You are the Lord
The famous one
Famous one
Great is your name
In all the earth
The heavens declare
You're glorious, glorious
Great is your fame
Beyond the earth
You are the Lord
The famous one
Famous one
Great is your name
In all the earth
The heavens declare
You're glorious, glorious
Great is your fame
Beyond the earth
And for all you've done
And yet to do
With every breath
I'm praising you
Desire of nations
And every heart
You alone are God
You alone are God
You are the Lord
The famous one
The famous one
Great is your name
In all the earth
The heavens declare
You're glorious, glorious
Great is your fame
Beyond the earth
The morning star
Is shining through
And every eye
Is watching you
Revealed by nature
And miracles
You are beautiful
You are beautiful
You are the Lord
The famous one
Famous one
Great is your name
In all the earth
The heavens declare
You're glorious, glorious
Great is your fame
Beyond the earth

Review about Famous One Really, this is what you "christians" have time for? | Reviewer: Disappointed | 4/21/09
I can't believe that on a Christian worship song there could be so much bickering and non-christ like attitudes.
Aren't you christians supposed to be out witnessing and showing the love of the kingdom? or is this how you are spending your time?
how much do you have to hate people (which jesus never did) to waste time arguing on a dumb website instead of living out what you proclaim to be truth.
if this is what you do with your time you will never make a difference for your kingdom. i am so sorry for you.
i hope that your God has pity on you.

Well maybe you don't agree with JD, but do you have to say it that way? God says not to judge people; so you don't have to judge people, here specifically JD. Yes you can tell them what you think, but I don't think there is no need to criticise! And JD, maybe it wasn't very appropriate for you to call the song ridiculous. It may not match your expectations, but it does match that of others and does reach out to other people. What do we show to non-believers about Christians if we cannot make peace among ourselves, and don't even obey God? How can we lead them to Christ by doing what we do?
does it matter? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/7/08
does it matter? so what he used the term "famous", big deal! he is still glorifying our beloved God. God is who you want him to be. to me he is my father and my best friend. others he is their God. For chris, God is "the famous one" the one heaven declares and glorifies. the one that he glorifies. you state that famous is such a humanish quote, well i hate to break it to you, but we are just that. mere mortals. we have no words that describe him. the term wonderful is not enough, nor is the term divine-believe it or not!
The Main Thing | Reviewer: Phillip Buchanan | 1/2/08
I find it slightly Ironic that in a discussion about a song exalting God, all I hear is agruements. The Psalmist said "Who can fully declare your glory?" Tomlin knows that he cant fully exalt God, so he does his best with the talent God has given him (quite a bit, Id say). The issue here is not whether this song "does God justice" (Impossible to do) but whether Tomlins heart is in the right place. This is about praising God, not pleasing men.
ugh... | Reviewer: Pr. Andy | 9/16/07
man, can we be any more religious? Yes our words off course dont measure up to what/who God really is, but how else would you describe HIM? that was the typical comment from someone who lives in the flesh and is not spiritually mature to understand that there's nothing we can actually do that will impress the Lord, cause He created us and everything around us! yet, He DOES rejoice in us doing His will and that's exactly what Christ Tomlin is doing.
"And for all You've done and yet to do
With every breath I'm praising You
Desire of the nations and every heart
You alone are God
You alone are God"
tell me if that is not exalting God?!?!?!?
Let's stop criticising others and maybe we should learn something from Chris Tomlin in how to submit to God's will, and that is making the name of the Lord great in the earth. (great comission)
JD does have a point, kind of. God is beyond any worldly words we could label him with. But JD is also wrong too. Yes, He is above any word to call him, but we can try. No, they won't measure up, but we have to describe him somehow and our only reference is the bible so you do the math...

JD must be Church of Christ | Reviewer: Get Real | 5/19/07
That is a typical Church of Christ remark. Just give credit to Tomlin for writing an awe-inspiring song. You must believe in water-baptism as the way truth and the life right? HAHA. So I guess just like you missed that mark too, you think also that God isn't famous? How can you say he's not famous. That's blasphemy my friend. You worship Satan. (or your church of christ...same thing)
I highly doubt that Chris Tomlin was saying that he's "only" the famous one. He only touched on one aspect of our amazing creator. I think this song is far from ridiculous. I don't think that any song could ever fully encapsulate our God, but I don't think Chris Tomlin was trying to do that, only trying to shed light on one simple aspect, the only way he knows how, the human way...
to JD... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/3/07
JD, Do you not have anything better to do than write ridiculous comments about this awesome song? I doubt you've ever heard Chris talk about this song... Do you realize that Jesus Christ is just about the most famous person ever? He is UNRIVALED! chris wants people to see that Jesus is the famous one not him... THIS SONG IS AWESOME AND GOD IS USING CHRIS TOMLIN IN SUCH AWESOME WAYS BECAUSE HE DOESN'T CARE IF he BECOMES FAMOUS! HE KNOWS IT'S ALL ABOUT HIS GOD AND MAKING GODS NAME KNOWN (FAMOUS!) IN ALL THE EARTH!!!
