It's been a long road
Getting from there to here
It's been a long time
But my time is finally near
And I can feel the change in the winds right now
Nothing's in my way
And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No there not gonna hold me down
Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith
I've got faith
Faith of the heart
It's been a long night
Trying to find my way
Been through the darkness
Now I finally have my day
And I will see my dreams come alive at last
I will touch the sky
And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No there not gonna change my mind
Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith
Faith of the heart
I've known a wind so cold and seen the darkest days
But now the winds I feel, are only winds of change
I've been through the fire and I've been through the rain
But I'll be fine
Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith
I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith
I've got faith
Faith of the heart

Review about Faith of the Heart Goes Straight to the Heart!! UnForgetable :-) | Reviewer: Christina | 3/29/09
Who but Rod Stewart could creat such a wonderful, meaningful song....that goes straight to the Heart??? Has so much, says so much.....Who but the creators of Star Trek to put the two together???? Both will "Live Long and Help Us All to Prosper"!!!!
retirement | Reviewer: anonymous | 2/28/09
I have had the same job for almost 40 years now. Although it has been very difficult at times, I have always kept plugging away. I always felt that no matter what, I would do my job the way I thought it needed to be done. I would do right because it was right. I never thought of my pay as a big issue. Now, everyone keeps asking me when I am going to retire. I am sick of the question, it makes me angry when they ask. Can't they just say "good morning, how are you doing?" I hear this song and it makes me want to keep on going.........I think of it as my secret theme song. I know that may seem sort of weird because I have read the other reviews and they have faced things more terrible than I can imagine. It is just a very inspiring piece of music, no matter who sings it.

You can do it if you really want ... | Reviewer: Never Give Up! | 2/7/09
I am a cancer survivor (diagnosed at 22) but at the expense of not being able to have children. My mum, dad & best friend passed away within 6 years of each other; all b4 I turned 30. In Nov 2007, after 7 years together, I married the most wonderful man on this earth - despite his being an avid Star Trek fan! After hearing this song & listening to the words, I just knew I was going to walk down the aisle on our Wedding Day (1st marriage for both of us) to this piece of music. Talk about emotional - I cried all the way down the aisle and right through the ceremony - and still do every time I hear it - but even if I could do it all again, I wouldn't choose any other piece of music ... it was absolutely perfect and appropriate for all I have been through. Only months after our wedding, I was diagnosed with malignant tumors - but with an operation & some follow up treatment I celebrated my 50th birthday at the end of 2008. Despite all the negatives in my life, I am so grateful for who I am & what I have and don't know that it would be possible for me to be happier than I am right now ... it's certainly been a long road though.
Live, love and laugh like there is no tomorrow, for life is so unpredictable - I should know!

Amazing song, one of my all time favorites | Reviewer: Matdredalia | 6/30/08
First of all, I want to say that this is one of my all time favorite songs, probably in my top 50, which is saying a lot considering I have hundreds of favorite songs.
It brings tears to my eyes and a smile to my heart every time I hear it.
And secondly, @ those who keep complaining that Rod didn't do this song because they heard someone else do it on Enterprise: Guess what, Rod did it first. The other guy RE-DID it for Enterprise. It's this wonderful thing called a "cover" that they did. Please do some research.
