this song is about NOT wanting to fix a bad relationship
the person is obviously deciding weather or not they should proceed to move on
the only factor standing in there way is the fact that they always come back to the relationship SOMEHOW
and that every step away feels better but it hurts?
its hard to try when you know you can NEVER win
