Review about Fade to Black Timmy. | Reviewer: Nick | 11/14/09
Timmy,
Ok, I see what your thinking. However your wrong mate. Metallica isnt making songs to say "Hey kid kill yourself." Of course they wouldnt do that, because well they love there fans bro. The Song "Nothing Else Matters" Shows this. At first this song was about one of James Hetfields previous Girlfriends. However he forgot the whole thing and now metallica said "The song is for there fans." The Song master of puppets you were talking about? What do you think that means? Suicide? Death? Kill? No. The Song 'Master of Puppets' Is about how drugs can control your life and there YOUR master while you are the puppet. "The Master Of Puppets is pulling your strings, twisting your mind and smashing your dreams." It sais the master is pulling your strings twisting your mind and smashing your dreams. This shows how drugs have complete control of your life. It's far from a bad meaning. They say how drugs will totally control the fuck out of ya and if ya see this you should think twice before considering drugs. Anyway about you saying will they care about you? Think again bro. They have over millions and i mean MILLIONS of fans. If someone who killed themself over this song, its not like they wont care, its that they wont KNOW. They love there fans and if they found out about it, they wont try to do anyhting but theyll feal a little bad at least man.
Now Timmy, Just listen to what im saying and perhaps think on whats wrong with your comment.
Timmy, you just got even dumber. | Reviewer: Strazmoid | 11/12/09
Timmy, buddy.
FUCK U.
Look mate, what kind of fuckind sadist of a fucking god would wish us to lead lives without pleasure?
YOu tell me you dumb fucking piece of shit.
You were Bipolar and ADHD.
ADHD? So am I, and so I have always been, Looong before I listened to metal.
Accepting christ may have healed you of your Bipolar, and given your life a focus, but Metallica has nothing to do with that.
Because you are a irrational person, I will explain this to you on irrational terms.
Your favourite preacher preaches fundamental bullshit on TV, or would, if you didn't beleive that TV is evil. Anyway, this man is insightful and may have an unparraeled comprehension of God and the universe.
Well, you die, from some tragedy or the next, by which he was somehow an indirect cause, and he hears about it. This man may feel terrible about it, it may sadden him deeply. However, he never KNEW you. He never had a personal relationship with you, you never met. If you had, you may have been friends with the man. Well, replace that man with a thrash metal band.
You love their music, you love their lyrics, you almost idolise them.
Well, they hear about your death. They feel terrible, they are saddened. What could they have done? They didn't know you, they are to you as the preacher could have done. People die all the time, and we can't always stop it.
I don't hate the church, I think that really, their current teachings are really quite positive, they promote love, peace, life, and in general, acceptance. Even if I can't find it in me to accept their religon totally, I love these aspects.
Anyway, back to your most recent post- You claim to have submitted an honest review, despite the fact that you did not mention Metallica's merit as an actual band- you just used this forum as an opportunity to preach your fundamentalist bullshit. Well, telling us that Metallica's music is demonic, and that Metallica is intrinsically evil is NOT an objective review.
I mean, a purely objective music review is almost impossible, seeing as music is used as an expression of emotion and everyone is bound to react differently to different tracks. Well, you have actually transcended from disliking a style, to pure unreason.
Smeh.
I can't actually be bothered finishing this post.
Byeeee
If you were of the world the world would love its own, but since you are not the world hates you John 15:19 | Reviewer: timy | 11/8/09
Wow I didn't realize that those few messages that I sent would leave such an impact. I thought that this site was supposed to be about rating the song, I can't believe you are still using it to criticize me, expecialy since my opion dosn't matter. I will quit leaving comments but I will leave you with this. You could give up all the rock n roll, metal, and pop, etc., and whatever else you wanted to and be the best person in the world, and that wouldn't make you a Christian. Completely yeilding your life to Christ, and putting your faith in Him to save you from your sins is what needs to take place. After you do that you will not want to listen to this junk and you will start desiring good instead of evil. I know from experience. I used to get depressed and suicidal, I thought I was bypolar, and I thought I had ADHD. I believe these are all just names for demon oppresion, because when I accepted Christ they all departed. And I can't help but share. If you ever get to the point were you don't think you can make it anymore. Go to kjvbible.net and read John 3:16

...speaking about "demons" and stuff, have you ever took the time to listen to this full album, and, to be more specific, the outrageous song entitled "Creeping Death"?, just for you to know, it was written by these "puppets", and you know what the main theme is?, the 10th plague of Egypt(kind of cool that your "demons" inspired them to write about that huh?), take a deep breath man!, chill out, for no one can claim you, nor your soul unless you walk their path, that's the very sense of the most precious gift we have: Free Will...
...'tallica all the way!!!...
(...and, yes, i'm a religious man, a very very religious one...)

Ok.
So music is a language, music is emotion.
Would Metallica care if I killed myself?
They probably wouldn't EVEN KNOW.
Now, if a classical fan kills himself, what does Mozart or Pachbel care? Nothing. They're dead.
If an Elton John follower decides to kill himself after listening to Tiny Dancer, will Elton John find out? Unlikely.
He just wants your money (ie, to make a living)
Money makes the world go round, money and music.
Everyone is after money- fact of life.
Music is just Metallica's form of self expression.
If they feel depressed they write depressing song, and if they feel elated they write happy songs.
Besides, killing your fanbase isn't exactly a viable method of creating revenue.
Besides, quite a lot of Metallica's songs reflect classic compositions.
Shut the fuck up, ignorant conservative retard.
You know fuck all, so go die in a hole.
(that was probs a troll neway...Day-um)

Oh btw, just putting this out there...
How are envy hate and STRIFE "works of the flesh"?
Honestly, I am a sinner by definition, though I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't screw around, (though I'm sure most metalheads don't) I play Xbox... I have never had thoughts of suicide, as I doubt the exsistence of God, as I have done since I was ten years old.
Master of Puppets is not about Satan controlling Metallica- it's about cocaine.
To be honest, nowadays Metallica don't even lead self-destructive life styles. They are just ordinary people, with alot of money.
No band can care about their fans on a personal level, as they don't actually KNOW their fans on a personal level.
If you think Metallica should be an exception, and should personally attend the funeral of every single on of their fans that die, you are an idiot.
Although now I come to think of it, I am sorta touched that you made the attempt to save my mortal soul.
Just remember that the only sin that can't be forgiven is ignorance.

Yeh timy you're full of crap brah ^^
master of puppets is about being addicted to i think crack? i know its a drug not sure which, the puppet being you. And metallica happened to throw 50k into the pot in finding that girl that went missing at their concert, and oddly enough they dont know her...hmmm
Timy, you sir, are gay. | Reviewer: Zachary Twat | 10/30/09
Timy, Metallica is not possessed by demons or anything stupid like you say. There is no proof whatsoever that songs can be inspired or played by demons through people. That's just stupid religious juju. I'm very religious, and I listen to Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Cannibal Corpse, Children of Bodom, Avenged Sevenfold, Slayer, Lamb of God, Sabaton, Five Finger Death Punch, Motorhead, System of a Down, Black Sabbath and any other metal band you can think of. Last year, my best friend died from an accidental gunshot. I was there when he was shot. Let me tell you, one of the biggest comforts for me WAS in fact, Metallica's music. They saved me from committing suicide. So just shut the hell up. No one believes in that. No one.
Alright man I see where u r coming from but I don't agree that music gives u a high that's not why I listen to it at all. Second of all what r u talking about? Metal makes people depressed and commit suicide? Really? Then wut should all the metalheads listen to? Shitty ass pop music? Cuz I'm pretty sure ur favorite singer Hannah Montana wants to kill herself cuz the "music" she makes sucks and if not shitty ass pop then even worse rap and hiphop? No, at that point if rather listen to my metal and end up killing myself.

I see this song as what each person must go through at some point in their life before they realize something supernatural. You come to the end of your rope, your world falls apart you become totally hopeless and empty and something dies inside yourself but then something that is truly greater is realized.
For those who want to talk about Christianity - even Christianity testifies to this universal truth.
