When I've heard this song on the way back when. That was in 1991. I was eight years old, my youngest brother was ten years old and my oldest brother was eleven and twelve years old. When this song came out on the radio, VH1 and MTV in the spring of 1991. I was in the second grade at South Heights Elementary at the time. My youngest brother was in the fourth grade at Central Elementary at the time and my oldest brother was in the sixth grade at Central Elementary at the time. It will be twenty years when it came out.

I love this song. Not only because Extreme is my favorite band, but because this song really captures how I feel about Christmas. Christmas is a time of joy. A time of good cheer, good will toward your fellow man and a time of love and hope. I have always wondered why we seem to save it all up for one day of the year and why we can't show that same spirit all year long, year in and year out. This song inspires me to do my best to spread love, hope and joy all year long. Thank you, Extreme, for planting that seed and inspiring me to live the spirit of this wonderful holiday, and this wonderful song. Not only is the message powerful and inspirational, but the musicianship is phenomenal. This band is one of the most versatile, talented bands to ever hit the music scene and that talent really shines in this song.

To me this is one of the most uplifting songs. The acoustical guitars are marvelously played and the harmony of the band is awesome. I can't stop feeling like I'm ready for anything after hearing it. The lyrics seem somewhat fashioned to fit the song, but this song represents a part of my life that will stay with me forever.
