----The band that would later be known as Excommunion was
formed in the summer of '98. Then only a three piece, the
line up consisted of Josh Tavrow (guitar), Kyle Spanswick
(guitar), and Dustin Selveen (drums). Through the following
year these three composed and compiled, moving from
practice space to practice space and borrowing whatever
equipment they could get their hands on. They would soon
adorn the title of "Excommunion" in place of their first
band name "Goatdeamon". Excommunion was originally intended
to be their mutual friend's black metal project, but it
never actually came to be and the name was offered forth.
The word itself, is derived from the word excommunication,
