Evolution Lyrics - Korn

Review The Song (13)

I'm diggin' with my fingertips
I'm ripping at the ground I stand upon
I'm searching for fragile bones
Evolution

I'm never gonna be refined
Keep trying but I won't assimilate
Sure we have come far in time
watch the bow break

And I'm sorry that I don't believe
by the evidence that I see
That there's any hope left for me
It's evolution
Just evolution

And I, I do not dare deny
the basic beast inside
It's right here
sponsored links
It's controlling my mind
And why do I deserve to die
and I'm dominated by
This animal thats locked up inside

Close up to get a real good view
I'm betting that the species will survive
Hold tight, I'm getting inside you
Evolution
And when were gonna find these bones
They're gonna want to keep them in a jar
the number one virus caused by
Procreation

And the planet may go astray
in a million years they'll say
Those motherf****** were all derranged
It's evolution
Just evolution

And I, I do not dare deny
the basic beast inside
It's right here
It's controlling my mind
And why do I deserve to die
I'm dominated by
This animal thats locked up inside

Take a look around
Nothing much has changed
Take a look around
Nothing much has changed
Take a look around [x3]
Nothing much has changed
Take a look around [x2]
Nothing much has changed
Take a look around [x2]
Nothing much has changed
Take a look around

I, I do not dare deny
the basic beast inside
It's right here
It's controlling my mind
And why do I deserve to die
I'm dominated by
This animal that's locked up inside

Why
Why do I deserve to die?

Those who don't believe in evolution(wow really?)
are merely showing of their survival instincts. It's only logical. Like for example if we'll go back in time and a caveman is walking down the main street and bumps into a shady dinosaur who tells him that just around that corner fame and fortune awaits but the caveman ain't a dummy head so he says fuck your believes, I'll believe it when I see it, and so the dinosaurs went extinct. because they were more liberal and trustful, their idealistic utopia was the cause of their sudden downfall. it's evolution man.

Funny comments, fieldy the bassist, a speed/meth head after destroying his brain on drugs believed he had to stop doing drugs and leave the band and start his own because he heard a voice in his head (Medically I would go with Schizophrenia or audio hallucination from the speed) and yeah KoRn is anything but procreation/god funny if people actually read the lyrics/watched the music video they would know, instead of trying to twist KoRn into some kind of "nice" guys lol

Dear believer in cause and effect,

You're the reason I'm actually wasting my time to post on this page, because pretty much every attempt at a thought that you've written is stupid. Music is largely subjective, but some of its ideas are downright obvious. This is not an "anti-evolution song." "Nothing much has changed" doesn't mean that nothing much has changed in human physiology; it's a statement of irony. He means that despite our evolution, we're still mentally dominated by that "basic beast inside," the remnants of our primitive nature.
Proof isn't enough for him to believe? Even if that's what he'd said, that's a completely ridiculous thing to say. What more do you need to believe something than *proof*? A punch in the face? I'd happily oblige. What he actually said was that he doesn't believe that there's any hope left for him, not that he doesn't believe in evolution.
You're assuming that since the bassist (yes, a bassIST plays the bass) MIGHT be christian, the entire band must never hurt his feelings by playing a song that supports an opposite viewpoint. Oh no! That would be unbearable. It would also be life. He'll survive. And I say MIGHT be because you probably got that information off of wikipedia and I don't really know if you can read so you may have just made it up.
I can't believe you said that evolution is "all for the money and funding and publishing." Are you serious? Tell you what. Plan a trip to Rome. Go check out Vatican City. You don't see that kind of excessive opulence in evolutionist areas, probably because evolutionists give less of a shit about stunning and distracting their audience with all that gilded baroque bullshit, and more about actually expressing factual information.
"Theres barely any evidence for it." Just learn how to read, and pick up a science book. Please.
Just because something is too complicated for you to understand doesn't give you justification for making up nonsensical myths and asserting them as LOGIC. Take a grandfather's clock. I'm POSITIVE you don't know how those gear mechanics work. Try to make some sense out of how it works. You can't? Well do you call it magic then? Divine intervention? No, you don't, because you at least know that even though the clock is beyond YOUR understanding, it isn't beyond EVERYONE'S, and even if it were, that still doesn't warrant saying "uhhh, must be magic!" Dear god, man.

you guys are all dumbshits | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/10/10

first off this song is the shit

second, he's talking about how the human race hasn't achieved anything since they placed themselves at the top of the food chain a few thousand years ago. all society is really run by "the basic beast inside," the beast of social Darwinism, or more commonly known as survival of the fittest. even tho we've become more civilized about it, were all just programmed to eat, sleep, and fuck basically. check out Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs if you want a better explanation, how we will only focus on our physical needs to be met if they are not before any other psychological needs.

also this song isn NOT anti-evolution it's very pro as a matter of fact. and you can be Christian and believe in evolution... like me. I don't want to put words in his mouth but another feeling that I get from this song is that everybody has their problems and anxieties and inner turmoils that need to be solved but won't or can't be. and these problems will continue to remain in society both genetically and through environmental upbringing. if your grandparents were fucked up, your parents might be. and then you might be. and then your kids might be. and so on and so forth.. until in a million years they'll say... those motherfuckers WERE ALL DERANGED!!

this is an anti-evolution song. Look at the lyrics "nothing much has changed" this certainly doesnt support the idea of evolution. He also states that the proof isnt enough for him to believe. Also fieldy the bass is a christian. I dont think he would agree to play a song that would blatantly go against his beliefs. Also i dont know what this guy is talking about in his review but if you look at evolution with an open mind it should be clear that its all for the money and funding and publishing. Theres barely any evidence for it. I believe there has to be a creator of everything. Everything is to complex and also everything that i have came across has a creator. So i would assume with logic that the earth and our universe does to.

Analysis | Reviewer: blitzacetidus@gmail.com | 4/5/10

In the video for this song, it said that high IQ families average 1.5 children, and low IQ families average 5 children, and I decided to do some of the math. 100 is the median IQ, therefore, there are exactly as many people with an IQ below 100 as there are people with an IQ above 100. Now, taking the approximate average from both sides, that means 50% of the population averages a 110 IQ, and 50% averages a 90% IQ. From both sides, approximately half will marry someone with their same IQ, and half will marry someone with the other IQ. Therefore, half of the entire population will be a couple with 90 and 110 IQ, 25% will be both 110, and 25% will be both 90. Now, assuming that people with 100 IQ will have the average amount of children between the two IQs (the average of 1.5 and 5), they will have 3.25 children. Now, assuming there are 4000 people in this sample size, 2000 of them are in 100 IQ families, 1000 of them are in 90 IQ families, and 1000 are in 110 IQ families. Divide those numbers by 2 to get the number of couples, and you get 1000 100 IQ families, 500 90 IQ families, and 500 110 IQ families. Now, when each couple has children, they have their respective averages for how many children they will have. So, simply multiply that average by the amount of couples to get the amount of children:
1000 x 3.25 = 3250 (100 IQ)
500 x 5 = 2500 (90 IQ)
500 x 1.5 = 750 (110 IQ)

So, now, 50% of the population has an average IQ, 38.5% has a 90 IQ, and 11.5% has a 110 IQ. The average IQ of the population is now about 96.2. I won't go through all the math for the next generation (it would take way too long), so you'll have to take my word for it. After all of these people have children, 19.7% have 90 IQ, 42.4% have 95 IQ, 30.1% have 100 IQ, 7.3% have 105 IQ, and only 0.5% have 110 IQ. 62.1% of people have below average IQ now, and only 7.8% are above average. This means that there are now about 8 times as many below average people as there are above average people. And this was over the course of only 2 generations

tl;dr: After just two generations, the amount of people with below 100 IQ will outnumber those above 100 IQ 8 to 1.

It's about Evolution! | Reviewer: Jeff | 7/28/08

What I get from this song is that all the rage, violence, and suffering of this time is "just evolution". The generations are increasingly messed up because we are evolving into something new -- and like childbirth, a stage in evolution is painful. Each new generation is going to be filled more with angst, until everything snaps, and "in a million years they'll say, 'those motherf****** were all deranged!'"

...Man, I gotta stop typing up stuff before I know what the lyrics mean... The procreation bit is about overpopulation, because the people that procreate the most(and in essence have more children) are usually less educated then the people that have the least children. Watch the video, Dustin.

Awesome Song | Reviewer: Seth | 3/17/08

No, it's saying that people that ARE overly fanatic about procreation only incites pro-evolutionists to try and prove evolution even more. In other words, it's caused by those who won't let sleeping dogs lie. Don't get me wrong-- I'm a Christian, I believe in creation, all that, I'm just saying that I think KoRn was trying to give a different message then what either of you are taking. Or, at least, that's the way I take it.

Evolution | Reviewer: G-sus | 11/13/07

Reviewer dustin wonders if Korn believes creation is just made up. People that believe in creation have been brainwashed by religion and people that wildly misquote the claims of evolution. All sciences corroborate the theory of evolution. When one ardently studies the evidence with an open mind, it is silly to accept the non-science of creationism. Jonathon Davis points out that we are ape-like mammals that have animal instincts that are still around no matter how much we try to suppress them (or shave them away, or hide the human mutations from the general society). We will probably survive because of our variations and survival instincts. Reviewer cooliooli was right in my opinion too.
