Everything Lyrics - Lifehouse

Review The Song (135)

Find Me Here
Speak To Me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
You are the light
That's leading me
To the place
where I find peace, again.

You are the strength, that keeps me walking.
You are the hope, that keeps me trusting.
You are the life, to my soul.
You are my purpose, you're everything.

And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

You calm the storms, and you give me rest.
You hold me in your hands, you won't let me fall.

You still my heart, and you take my breath away.
Would you take me in? Take me deeper now?

And How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?
And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Cause you're all I want, you're all I need
You're everything, everything
You're all I want, you're all I need
You're everything, everything.
You're all I want, you're all I need.
You're everything, everything
You're all I want, you're all I need.
You're everything, everything.

And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?
And how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better, any better than this.

And How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Life house is a praise and worship band I happen to know this because I listen to all of ther music and yes this song is about Gods love. im sher the band would be ofended that you would even take this song out of context. yes you can make it what you whant but it is and will always be a song about God that is what the band wrote it for. Go to u tube and watch the human video if you dont belive in God maybe this will chainge your mined. Trust me it will its that powerfull I was in this human video when i was in masters and it was just as powerfull to be in as it was to watch live all that to say trust me when i say this song is!!! about Gods love!!!!

Hmm.. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/7/12

Damn. It's crazy how bad people can fight About a song.. What is the Internet doing to this world??
Anyway, the previous comment threw me off a little bit. Woulda never guessed if was about the death of his sister. It sounds like its about a girl he's in love with. Oh and by the way, why would anybody think this is about God? Theres a few lines that definitely wouldnt describe feelings towards him. Don't get me wrong its cool to be religious and all..I'm religious myself but man some people just take it too far.. Someone posted a commented on the lyrics to piano man by billy Joel on this website saying the song was about Jesus being nailed to the cross.. Went into detail and all.. Come on now.. That's just crazy talk XD but anyway this is a really good song no matter what it's actually about

the fact! | Reviewer: brendan O' Brian | 8/13/11

I'm the mixing manager for the band. To put the record straight, seeing as everyone is arguing instead of talking about the music, here is the fact.
The song is indeed NOT about religion. It is infact about the death of his sister when he was 14. Now listen again. - Nick

wow | Reviewer: torylynn | 4/27/11

This is a beautiful song and it always fills my heart with redemption everytime i listen to it or see the music video. It's ashame that people are having such a debate on this song. It is made for people who need to believe in something whether that be love or god is completly up to them. For me i feel my god's power wash over me ever time and it makes me cry. If you see the music video it is a very emotional thing. Some may not believe in god but i do and i think that i was put on this earth to witness the amazing news of Jesus and salvation to other people. If you need something to believe in then pick up the bible read where it says that you can have everlasting life. Read where it says that God gave up his son to die on a wooden cross for OUR sins. Us we are unworthy and we should be praising God over this song. Not bickering over stupid things. Everyone is entitled to there opinion and yes we are supposed to treat others with the same respect as any one no matter what there religion is. But it is hard to think that someone out there doesnt believe in God. When you grew up in a home that lives around him all your life and then someoen tried to tell you different about it you dont believe them. Thank you God for all you do and have done for me. Thank you for your blessings

Hi!!!!! XD | Reviewer: Dude are you serious -.- | 4/2/11

Seriously? Since when did this become a Bible lesson. I mean like it's your own opinion and all but HOW do YOU REALLY KNOW is this song is about God? Like it could be about a lot of things. It could be about oh i dont know love, because somebody could be so in love that they trust in the person and they calm there storm. Like "Calm the Storms" it's so romantical xD but anyways. *Ahem* I mean you can think whatever you think but I THINK it's about true love ^^. Now dont go saying "You gonna go to H*ll" because like didnt God want us to Respect each other, like I think he would be very dissapointed with us. Like killing people and racism and sexism and all those things! So anyways that's it.. and since when where we "God's servants" ?! Like WOW. O.O""

RE: Huge Correction! & and many of you closed minded ones ;) | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/30/11

simmer down... it could be about love or love for a higher power.. but hey ... I guess we wont know in less you do your research or you talk to the writer of the song so before every one labels it as something.. that it very well may be not, how about we hold it to this... its what you make it... that’s what music is about to one person it could be something but to others it could mean something else... only close minded people push their crazy beliefs on others... maybe this band does have a have religious ties but also did they write the song… or did someone else… I mean who are we to even label it.. If you were not there then maybe you should step back and let it go it could be about anything… just like every thing else you don’t know in less you where their… I just think its funny that people get so up set and name call or say someone is gonna burn in hell… get over it.. Its a song, and other peoples beliefs … you don’t walk in their shoes so back the hell up.. No one has any right to judge others… I am pretty sure in the “good book” it talks about not judging others… so to those that judge some for not having the faith or believing maybe you should take a step back step back and take some time to think about what a true Christian is cause I am pretty sure its not about judging and point fingers ..

To the person who 'corrected' Sarah:

how arrogant was your response?! you assume because your views are so strong they are indisputably correct!! she's perfectly within her rights to not believe in somebody else's faith. 'And I, myself don't find it wrong to help others to see the light' - sorry? see the light? the 'light' for an atheist is that god does not exist. that is however just a belief, and until its proven its obviously disputable. hence people have DIFFERENT beliefs. i in fact agree with her about the closed minded comments shes made. there seems to be an overwhelming majority of christians, or any other faith for that matter, who are perfectly willing to attempt to change your mind on god, but are totally unwilling to accept that he is unproven and therefore much open to opinion on whether he exists. everytime ive listened to a reason as to why i should believe ive actually listened to it, unlike most believers who appear to be just there to talk and not listen and accept that some people just dont believe.

"I believe it would be YOU who is so closed minded! How could you be okay with burning eternally in HELL....." - how does that make her close minded? im fine with 'burning eternally in hell' because i don't believe in it, probably a view she would share since she doesn't belong to a faith. The way i see it there is no afterlife. but thats just my opinion and obviously doesn't mean its correct, similarly to how your opinion doesn't mean there is an afterlife.

the fact that you are so arrogant and foolish enough to tell somebody that they are mislead because they dont share the same opinion as you is a trait this world would be better without.

god is unproven, and therefore an OPINION. i totally understand and accept why people believe in god. its just not for everybody, like myself. you'd do well to accept that and stop believing people are 'mislead'. and if there is a god, shouldn't your place in the afterlife be based on the type of life you've lead, as opposed to whether you believed in him. surely that would show more strength within a person if they can lead to a good life for reasons other than ending up in heaven.

i personally believe this song was probably written about god or jesus, but i relate it so subjects totally different. probably a reason as to why this song is so good!

Lifehouse is both ways :) | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/12/11

Lifehouse has always had songs that can be taken two different ways. It's how you, the listener, choose to take it. Either to someone you love deeply or to God. Lifehouse's song "You and Me" is another one of their double sided songs.

the meaning of the song | Reviewer: hannah martin | 1/9/11

it doesnt really matter what way we veiw this video either in a christian way or not. i think this song is supposed to be like that. it lets us make our own veiws and make it personal to us. it doesnt matter if it was written by a christian band because some of them do not allways just sing christian song.

a beautiful song | Reviewer: leah | 11/3/10

this is a beautiful "christian song" the artist is expressing his love for Our Savior. and everytime i listen to it i am reminded of how beautiful Our God is and all he has done for us and i am moved to tears this is a great song!

Shut up folks! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/19/10

It's a cool song I wouldn't give it as much of a debate that seems to be going on here. Has any of you people fell in love or felt infatuated over someone? Granted, spirituality can be percieved. I can totally see this related to a relationship, breakup, or beginning of something.
P.S it's your friendly neighborhood, Spider-man!

not just interpretation | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/1/10

"regardless of the artist's intentions when the song was written, you can't say for sure that any one interpretation is what the song is about"
Well actually, as I see it if the artist's intentions are that it's a song to/about god, than that is in fact what the song is about. You can interpret it anyway you want, but the way the artist intended the song to be taken is the true meaning of it. If the artist who wrote and sang the song says it's a Christian song, then that's what it is. And for those that thought it was a love song, you're correct too.it is a love song to God because he knows the depths of everyone's hearts and still loves them, what person do you know whose like that?

re: so listen up | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/29/10

"i can obviously see why you would think its just an ordinary love song.. and it can be interpreted that way", you say. yes, it can. "but its about letting go and letting God". well, to that i say "yes, it can be interpreted that way", but that's all it is - an interpretation. regardless of the artist's intentions when the song was written, you can't say for sure that any one interpretation is what the song is about. it means something different to everyone, and all those meanings are correct.
