The lyrics to this song are almost a perfect fit for the story of Barnabas' tragic love for Josette (in the gothic soap "Dark Shadows"). An evil witch turns Barnabas into a vampire and casts a spell that causes Josette to fall to her death. Barnabas ends up chained in his coffin for over a century, and when he's released the first thing he does is kidnap a girl who looks exactly like his dead lost love and "takes her home" by making her think she is the reincarnation of Josette. Josette's ghost is shown many times "the shadow". And of course the moonlight leads Barnabas to Josette's grave often. Anyhow, throughout the series Barnabas keeps trying to get his true love back even though Josette had died - through time travel, parallel time, and even in death, their love endures.

I believe this song is about Jesus
His voice that is soothing his love that he gives for us that will never be taken away

I feel this is where she describes the need to feel he is in our lives even when he has left us to go to heaven until his return

I feel is about where and how we find him in our walk of life

Some say im crazy for my love:
Many people feel that a Christian is defined as crazy that we can believe in someone we cannot see or hear.

This is i feel a song that is about Love for Jesus and how because of him

i lost the love of my life 9 1/2 months ago when some crazy man ended both my love's life...and mine...with a single bullet, before taking his own life later that day. there is a not-so-gentle madness that happens when you lose someone you love someone as much as i loved him, and although the darkest days have somewhat passed for me, i still live on the brink of that madness every day. everything about this song - the lyrics, the instrumentals, the mood - reflects my continuing moods and haunts me each time i hear it.

I also agree with this there just that one piont where you dont feel like being there with out them you belive thier still there lingering around when you think you haer them and dream about them...

This guitar solo is amazing! When i first listened to this song, it was just on one big Evanescence playlist. Well i had to stop what i was doing just to see exactly what song this was. Then i made an anime music video to it-well, to the guitar solo through the ending...i love this song.

This song is, to me, one of the better Evanescence songs. It's sad, because everyone will someday empathize with this song...maybe not quite to the extreme that is portrayed.
I certainly agree with everyone talking about the eerie quality to this song...the speaker going insane from grief and in denial that her love is dead.
But it is romantic, because it emphasizes that they will never be truly dead if you continue to remember them and love them.

I totally agree with the person just below, this song is obviously about someone losing the person they love most and just going insane. They are in denial about everything but they can still believe their love goes on. The other crazy thing about it is the feel of the song. The sound at the start is kinda creepy.
But I love this heaps, Just for its eerieness.
