This song is about the breaking point - her strength is so tapped out that she feels she has given him everything and she has nothing left. The beginning of the song speaks directly to how she has opened up to him so much that he can look into her eyes and into her soul yet he is a taker - so he took her energy and left her there depleted. She is asking - no - begging him to give back. To save her from the dark place he left her. She is scared - feeling so empty and dead inside - that she can not bring herself back this time. So she calls out to him. He realizes that he as been living a lie and sees how the real thing has always been right there in front of him. It's about being on the edge of too late - she has given him everything when he needed it - only to walk away until he needed her again. Now she is frozen without his touch - without his love. She needs him to become the giver and breathe life back into her.

I loved the EP version of this song. I think that is the best vocal she ever did. I like her voice but on to many songs it sounds like she's trying to sing outside her range and it ends up sounding whiney. When she sings that way her voice is powerful enough not to be hidden in the music. U guys should look up the Evanescence EP for that version.

i love amy lee. she went through a lot and that is what inspired her music. she probably did something she regretted which led to this song. her calling herself a thief, a whore, and a liar could be true, but in a different way than those words are usually meaning. within herself she can see what we can't and the way she describes herself reminds me a lot of how i've felt lately. anyone from the outside looking in can say that well obviously she's not really a thief or a whore or a liar, but how she looks at herself and the world can actually make those words, To her, be True. i don't believe she is any of those things, but she knows more of herself than anyone knows of her. and the fact that she states it like that makes her amazing and honest. i look up to Amy Lee in a way you couldn't posibly imagine.
