Epica Lyrics

Travelling around the world and meeting other cultures;
those are in short the major sources of inspiration for
singer, songwriter, composer and guitarist Mark Jansen,
both as a person and a musician. The latest proof of his
unlimited interest in the world around him is the album The
Phantom Agony, the colourful debut album of the recently
founded Dutch band Epica. Mark Jansen and his fellow
musicians harbour a great interest in other cultures,
especially Arab ones. The warmth with which people treat
one anotherthere, but also the More...

------ About the song Chasing The Dragon performed by Epica

This is a supreme piece, a true masterpiece actually! Certainly an ornament symphonice metal should be proud of! The music is captivating, Simone's vocals perfetcly balanced and touching while Mark and the choir gives a stronger touch and as a result the song captures the essence of the lyrics, the true point of the song, to fight your weaknesses and fears, forgive and help others move on too... Breathtaking, by far the best Epica song!

------ About the song Fools Of Damnation performed by Epica

When they attack islam, it's always in original language (arabic) and obvious (azan), but when it comes to christianity, it's in general latin presented under the form of a choral so no one will understand. Epica is just a sample of those who are unfortunatly manipulated by medias. Medias want us to believe that Islam is a religion of war and terrorism, so we will be distracted from what really happens in our world, and fight like monsters. Well, good luck with that, dear humanity, this debate will never end.
I love epica, but when it comes to this kind of songs, i think they're mistaken. it's not a matter of religion, we are humans and supposed to live peacefully together because we've got brains, so please stop acting like it's a competition between religions, no religion is bad, but intentions are sometimes evil.

------ About the song Dance of Fate performed by Epica

i love this song is just like a poem it talks beautiful about the destiny and how life is passing by and there are things we don´t like about the past (mistake) and somethings the present is just no good cause we don´t know where we are going with our life like it says " We should open new doors
And close the ones that we’ve left behind"

Very Zeitgeist-ey | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Fools Of Damnation performed by Epica

This really seems like a song that pushes the concept of religion used as a means of controlling a population. They have another song that is really similar to this one where they are pretty much saying that the religion was twisted and misused by those in power, and those innocent worshipers became victimized by their own people - not by honoring their religions. I am spiritual but I don't have a religion, so this song really don't offend me: I look at it as a political statement rather than anti-religion propaganda. I saw Zeitgeist, and I have to say that this song really reminds me of it in a lot of ways... though, Zeitgeist has been debunked a few times; their statements about religions all being the same and stuff is totally wrong. Haha, look at me defending religions when I don't even have one. To each their own, eh?

Islam are not Terorist | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Fools Of Damnation performed by Epica

maybe, im not a islam. but, i know a bit about the reason islam doing teror by self kill scary bomb.
cause in their al quran, there's said people who fallen for facing their enemy of their religion will going to the heaven.
the ENEMY here is means "SATAN" , SATAN who make the world worst , War, Criminal, Killer. SATAN is whispering bad thoughts and invites people to destroy each other. because SATAN has been condemned by god and will be Going into hell at the end of world's life. so SATAN invites mankind to do sin so that they will going to hell, and accompany Satan in hell.

but most people misunderstand about their enemy in alquran, they thought that their enemy is the other religion than Islam, and religion that was attacking Islam. That like Israel supplied by christian from america in weapons for hurting Islamic families in Palestine.
so, people who misunderstand their enemy (called terorrsists) think that their enemy is a christian
and israel.
but, in my opinion. ALL RELIGION THAT BELIEVE IN EXISTENCE OF GOD THAT GOD WHO CREATED MANKIND AND THE WORLD, ARE THE TRUE RELIGION

The virginity part is almost certainly not literal (altho I must admit that's one funny interpretation XD)

The "virginity", imho, means the purity of young children whose minds have yet to be tainted by religion's corrupted way of thinking.

Hi again Emily, I also wanted to add that I think that the extinguisher is the human virtue of distinguishing between right and wrong, a virtue that is raped once religion enters your head.
Just like in that Steven Weinberg quote...

I probably sound like an ass, but I want to say that no interpretation is wrong and everyone has their own notions of what the song is about, just try to be less literal..
