
Envy On The Coast is a rock band from Long Island, New York, where Ryan Hunter and Sal Bossio attended Hofstra University (Hempstead, NY) for one year before dropping out. The band was formerly known as "Writ in Water" and had a different drummer before Dan Gluszak (of Guilt like Gravity) joined. The band recorded a 5 song EP with producer Bryan Russell which was released September 19 through PhotoFinish Records, to whom they have recently signed. The band is being managed by Straylight Run's Will Noon, and were featured in April's issue of Alternative Press. The bands first full length CD will be released on August 7, 2007 and is entitled "Lucy Gray"
They have toured with bands such as 30 Seconds to Mars, Agent Sparks, Angels & Airwaves, theAudition, Boys Like Girls, Emanuel, Forgive Durden, Hit the Lights, June, Mikoto, The Outline, Permanent Me, Saosin, The Sounds, and Valencia.They were on MTV2's $2 Bill tour featuring 30 Seconds to Mars, Head Automatica, and Cobra Starship. In the Spring of 2007, Envy took part in the first Alternative Press tour with Cute is What We Aim For, As Tall as Lions, and Circa Survive. The summer of 2007 will find the band touring with acts The Sleeping, A Day To Remember, and Valeyra and Kaddisfly, Powerspace, and Danger:Radio, as well as a month long stint on the Vans Warped Tour. In September 2007 the band will be touring with The Receiving End of Sirens and Emanuel with rotating guest openers Bela Kiss and Hopesfall.
In September and October 2007, the band supported Madina Lake, with Halifax and My American Heart also supporting.
