You know, some people believe this song is about forced sex. That's even what got it on the Naughty 20 (or whatever it's called) list by Tipper Gore.
But I disagree. I think it's about our mass consumerism society. We accepted it so quickly, and it gives us so much of a rush when we buy stuff that we always want more money to buy more stuff, and that's what Judas Priest, to me, is denouncing.
Yes, they were young when they wrote this song. Yet, they're the guys who gave us Run of the Mill, a beautiful Diamonds and Rust cover, and Dreamer Deceiver. I think they played with the innuendos on purpose.
