Dusk And Her Embrace Lyrics - Cradle Of Filth
Review The Song (11)
When the sun has swept upon the waveless lake
And the mists steal in with ease
Covened wolves arc their eerie dissonant napes
In adoration of the moon and thee
"They call as I to thee..."
And I will come, as if in dream
My languid, dark and lustrous Malaresian Queen
Of vengeful, ancient breed
Gilded with the pelts of many enemies
Erishkigal, raven-haired
Thy seduction haunts the castle in erotic despair
I can taste thy scent by candlelight
Legs of porcelain traced and laced to their lair
Appease the beast on spattered sheets
Dyed unearthly red as sobriety weeps
Nocternity...
She shall come for me
A black velvet painting sprung to elegant life
Like a poignant Madonna perverted to night
And I have ridden from the westerning light
To expend my lust
Tear away the funereal dress
Know that I will escape from my death
Surrendered to the splendour of her sharpened caress
Lo! The pale moonlight
Weaves a poetic spell of vital death and decline
Of mist and moth and the hunger inside
Kisses took to fever and fever, demise
"Through twilight, darkness and moonrise
My scarlet tears will run
As stolen blood and whispered love
Of fantasies undone"
Countess swathed in ebony
And snow-white balletic grace
Rouge-filmed lips procure the wish
For lust and her disgrace
Dusk and her embrace
We shall flit through the shadows
Like a dream of (were)wolves in the snow
Under deady nightshade
Still warmed with the kills of afterglow
Beneath the stars thy flesh bedevils me
(Beneath the stars taste the death in me)
Bequeath to me thy fiery kiss
To sever thin mortality
Elizabeth
My heart is thine
Thy fragrant words
Warm within like wine...
"Let me come to thee
with eyes like Asphodel
Moon-glacing, loose desires free
To writhe under my spell"
Erishkigal, raven-haired
Thy seduction haunts the castle in erotic despair
I know thy scent by candlelight
Immortal flesh I yearn to share
Appease the beast on spattered sheets
Dyed malefic red as sobriety weeps
Nocternity
She shall come for me...
Unfurl thy limbs breathless succubus
How the full embosomed fog
Imparts the night to us
And the mists steal in with ease
Covened wolves arc their eerie dissonant napes
In adoration of the moon and thee
"They call as I to thee..."
And I will come, as if in dream
My languid, dark and lustrous Malaresian Queen
Of vengeful, ancient breed

I truly say that Dani Filth is very skilled in making lyrics. He's more skilled compared to famous poets like William Shakespear and Edgar Allan Poe. He's borrowing ideas from other mythologies and legends, and with that he's my inspiration. I'm fascinated by his lyrics till now. They're way too dark and deep and I love that! I seem to understand every lyrics he writes. And each tells a story about lust and demise.

Firstly, for all the ignorant cretins that spit upon Cradle, thou hast much awakening to do. Secondly, they carried out justice o n the title track for this album. Dusk... And Her Embrace is truly Cradle of Filths finest work to date and is incomparable in content. Their poetic mastery leaves you lusting for more as if swept off your feet under temptress and moon.

Excuse me? All metal sounds the same? Have you ever heard pop and rap music. Same beats, different lyrics. Don't even get me started. At least metal musicians can actually play instruments rather than just make some stuff on a synthesizer, make up a few rhymes and done. It's ridiculous. Don't even say all metal is the same.
cradle kick ass | Reviewer: die hard fan | 5/26/10
for those of you who think cradle have gone soft or pop...eehhh!wrong answer! i dont suppose any of you cheese weenies have heard their follow up to thornography?- the masterful GODSPEED ON THE DEVILS THUNDER, possibly the most vile and violent piece of murder music to come spewing our way from the worlds most impressive metal act bar none. dark and devious and dripping with erotica and malice, godspeed takes us back to cradles leather winged black metalesque roots with ever more melody and madness. do yourselves a favour and check out godspeed, then check that u havnt shat ur pants with fear, and then u mite maybe wana reconsider the pop thing. dani is a god shat out of hell

I am sad to say that a lot of these songs do sound the same except in Nymphetamine. I listen to everything. Almost every song ever created and when it comes to this album, it IS lagging a bit. Some songs are good and some...not so good. They could have done different things. Gone softer on certain things or used different instruments as primary sources of moods in other songs. And you dont have to love this album to be a metal fan. Have you ever wondered why most of the world's or even the country's population doesnt like metal? It is the same thing a lot of the songs, just different lyrics.
And by the way, I am exactly the one to say this, being that I create music myself.

One Of The Best Songs From Cradle Of Filth | Reviewer: Bethalee Ebony | 10/24/08
This song is great but I really hate how some 'fans' bitch about Thornography it's not a fucking pop stupid people.Thornography is not pop what do you expect one of the great things about Cradle Of Filth is there not the same repetive stuff they have there certain style of music but not every song sounds the same.People are stupid to say they have gone mainstream that's BS just because they have more reconitation for there work does not mean there sell outs.Good music evoles and changes and expirements with different things Thornography is also great some so called 'fans' who say that it's pop and shit just say that because they feel like they have too.Cradle of filth has been embraced and disowned by various metal communities.Every Cradle Of Filth CD has never been a disapointment well to me anyways.

an incredible song by an incredible band | Reviewer: malus darkblade | 3/31/08
i agree, this song is truely a master piece complimenting them as a bnad greatly, ues thje sudden genre change from nymphetamine to thornography was great, but tho, t'is not all sickening woe, for there now different sound, cradle will ever be a great band, what ever style they choose to sing with, thats what it means to be a true fan.
Cradle of filth at it's best. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/18/07
this song fucking rules. second best from the album, after Haunted Shores .
