------ About the song Sylvia's Mother performed by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show

It is quite customary here in the south to rtgiseer for everyday dinnerware, Fine china, and Christmas china. I remember my mother-in-law being a bit shocked that I didn't want to rtgiseer for Christmas china. I just hated the thought of finding something I liked just as much in a giant boxed set at T.J. Maxx after Christmas for like 75% off!! But for now, I'm still enjoying my chargers (in the storage area of the china cabinet).

------ About the song Stuck On The Wrong Side Of Love performed by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show

Our lungs hurt from laughterOur lips are fozern in smileWe are hurrying, because we have to goAnd it is not the time to count the mistakesOur conscience is not torturing us anymoreWe – paper boats in the puddleIf only clouds wouldn’t hide the sunWe know for sure it won’t get any worseOne more gasp and heart will explodeOne more step and lens will meltIf only we’d be together as long as possibleFaces are sunburnt in the sun

Cocaine Katie | Reviewer: Windy Wilson
------ About the song The Cover Of The Rolling Stone performed by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show

As I recall, the song version I heard long ago on "Dr. Demento" referred not to "Cocaine Kitty", but to "Cocaine Katie", which rhymes less imperfectly with "Lady" in the earlier part of that verse.

What a song, amazing!!! | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Sylvia's Mother performed by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show

i first heard this song when i was a little boy and shouldnt be listening to such things, but what an impact this song had on me. every time it played on the radio it would stay with me for days upon days.I love the drama, the music the melody the harmony, just about everything about it. sometimes i felt like i was the dude begging to speak to sylvia. Now that i play music i play and sing the song myself. Brilliantly written and well sung. Maybe the group could add a verse or two about what happened after or maybe do a remix version, that would be great!!!Great job.

Sylvia's Mother | Reviewer: Bobby
------ About the song Sylvia's Mother performed by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show

Whoa, what a flashback. Working around the house listening to XM radio and they play Sylvia's Mother. Dennis' soulful voice and Ray's harmony, it's been three days and I still can't get that song out of my head... I loved it then and I still love it.

Done Gone | Reviewer: Orin Vee
------ About the song Marie Lavaux performed by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show

No, the lyrics are right, it's "another man done gone". Marie Lavaux is the legendary Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. She is said to have used 'gri-gri' or voodoo magic and was greatly feared by the Haitian populace (as well as many of the Creole people). Her legend was extended into the early part of the 20th century by first her daughter and then her granddaughter.

Rings - Dr. Hook | Reviewer: ilovecondiments
------ About the song Rings performed by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show

I remember this song from my teen years, especially the line "ring ring, golden ring, around the sun, around your pretty finger." I will probably add this song to my ipod at some point, if it's available.

Looking for this song in Karaoke | Reviewer: Melissa
------ About the song A Couple More Years performed by Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show

I have this on tape and love it. Played over and over and not even sure if tape is still good. But I would love this in CD and The song A couple more years in Karaoke. Have asked around and no one has heard of the song, OR the one Stone and I missed it.
WOULD LOVE BOTH SONGS IN KARAOKE.
