Okay, so let's get this straight. Five guys originally from
New Orleans, in four different bands, got together many
moons ago and started a little side project called "Down."
Seemed innocent enough, just a couple of freaks who were
into bands which were into Sabbath -- before it was cool to
be into Sabbath. We would jam and blow our heads off in
this little garage then something started to happen.

We weren't just blowing off steam and "Sabb-ing out"; we

I think it's pretty obvious that this song is about Phils accidental overdose and subsequent death and resuscitation at a Pantera show in 1996.

This is a very powerful and personal song sent as a warning message to his fans about hard drug usage. It is so we can learn from his mistakes and not go down the same road he did.

'Stone The Crow' is definetily one of Down's best songs. These guys are just awesome. Phil Anselmo is and always will be my favorite singer/frontman ever, he's got that freaking awesome vibe, and his voice is just perfect (not to mention he's very fucking hot too LOL). Down, motherfuckers, Down! <3

This is great.Its sad to think Pantera and all.Great band aswell.Dimebag R.I.P Down is a band with the singer and bassit of Pantera.Whatever happened to the drummer Vinnie Paul?Hmmm just thinking.Music means everything.

The lyrics themselves look solid, if not a little confusing at times, but the title itself is totally wrong. The title of the song is actually "Lifer", not "Lifter". It may just be me, but it seems really hard to to screw up the title when it repeats it quite a few times during the song.
