Doobie Brothers Lyrics

The Doobie Brothers 25th anniversary celebration kicks into
high gear in July 1996, when Rockin' Down the Highway: The
Wildlife Concert, a special benefit reunion concert for the
Wildlife Conservation Society, is released as a
double-album (CD, Cassette, MiniDisc) by Legacy Recordings,
a division of Sony Music Entertainment, and as a home video
(VHS, LaserDisc) by Sony Music Video (SMV). As the summer
goes on, the one-hour concert special will have its
broadcast premiere on PBS in August, during the annual
pledge drive, and PBS More...

Review about Doobie Brothers songs

------ About the song Another Park, Another Sunday performed by Doobie Brothers

I was 20 years old in the Army, cruising in a 1966 390V8 red Ford Galaxie 500 given to me by my Dad. Driving along in a beautiful area this song came on the radio and I was gliding to the melody and sound of music fitting me and the ride. What a mixture of time this song captured for me. I saw the Doobie Brothers later in concerts 8 times. This song still moves me now as it did then. Thanks, Doobies! And, Thanks, Tom Johnson.

Especially in light of the recent murder of Trayvon Martin - we ARE our brothers' keepers... Excellent song/lyrics for NOW!! Thankyou Michael McDonald & The Doobie Brothers! Jesus IS just alright with me...

------ About the song Jesus Is Just Alright performed by Doobie Brothers

If your christian brainwashing would let your spiritual self out you would realize that the lyric and music to this song are endearing to most people...stop being so negatively narrow minded.

"Is this what Christianity has come to? Where is the reverence for Christ in this song? Where is the theological depth?"

Uh, Laura, you do know that this song was written almost 40 years ago!!!! And, by a group called the DOOBIE Bros (you do know what a doobie is, don't you?)

Even so, anonymous is correct about the origin and genre of this song - and it is just alright with me....

------ About the song Another Park, Another Sunday performed by Doobie Brothers

I was 17 years old when this song came out. I loved it then and I still love it now. So many things were going on in my life back then and every time I hear this song it sweeps me back into time and I feel as I did then. I think this song will always make me feel now the way I did all those years ago. It was a very hard time for me and many changes in my life. Sometimes when I hear this song, I am flooded with emotions from long ago. This song is and always will be very special to me.

I don't normally post comments on line but your comment was so silly I just had to. You completely missed the point of the phrase "just alright". It shows real down-home reverence. Go listen to the song and the rythyms the lyrics have all the "theological depth" of the best Baptist and african-american sprituals. You've missed it all because the song doesn't fit into you preconcieved idea of what a "christian song" is. Look/listen again, then go listen to ZZ top's "Jesus just left chicago": it will probably upset you too.

Is this what Christianity has come to? Where is the reverence for Christ in this song? Where is the theological depth? There is none. 'Jesus is just alright'? You mean, He is nothing more? Songs like these make me so angry! There is nothing good about this song at all.

------ About the song The Captain And Me performed by Doobie Brothers

Saw the Doobies with Kansas It was a rain soaked free concert the Doodies cut loose The vocals were as crisp as ever The music was sensational They performed four songs from their newest album "World Gone Wild" The songs had the classic Doobie sound yet very fresh Of course I will need to complete my old school library first but the latest album is a winner

------ About the song Another Park, Another Sunday performed by Doobie Brothers

I happened upon this song today--In 1974, when I was 16 my mother died early in the morning that summer...after I left the hospital to come home I sat for hours and listened to this song...missing her and crying and loving her...even though this song was really meant for a lost love, I felt the words were mine that morning and though it has been many years, I still miss her and this song reminds me of early that morning when she left to be in Heaven...my life very much changed...LOVE YOU MOTHER
