There are TWO versions of Don't Cry, the version you are quoting is from the other album Use Your Illusion II...the lyrics above are from Use Your Illusion I. There are two very different versions of Don't Cry.

Ironic how the song's named "Don't Cry" and it makes you cry the most. Shannon Hoon's got an amazing voice. Blind Melon and Guns N' Roses are each so fuckingly amazing, let alone playing a song together like this.

A lot of my friends know only one or two songs by GnR but this is one of the most amazing songs ever. Most people think of them as a really heavy metal band, but some songs are more than just metal, like this one.

first time i heard this song was at my best mates funeral, we were really close and etc.. so this song is really close to me, no matter my mood it makes me think of her.. its just an awesome song and i love it so much.. the guitar intro and the lyrics are perfect, the lyrics and the vocalist's voice suit it perfectly (im not sure if its slash or axel.. someone help me out please).. this is undoubtely one of the best rock songs ever, it shows a side of rock that isnt seen too often.. and guns and roses pulled this one off perfectly.. as usual
