Dolly Parton Lyrics

Dolly Partons standing as one of the entertainment worlds
most beloved and durable superstars is undeniably assured.
But as the celestial-voiced songstress illustrates on her
new Columbia/Blue Eye album Something Special, the thrill
of making music is far from gone for the dazzling superstar.

Comprised of ten songs written by the prolific yet
extraordinarily profound artist, Something Special reveals
yet new dimensions to Dollys enormous musical gifts. With
such songs as the enchanting Green-Eyed Boy, the
heartbreaking Crippled Bird, More...

------ About the song Two Little Orphans performed by Dolly Parton

My mother used to sing this song to me and my older sister when we were little. Her mother used to sing it to her and her mother (my great grandmother) to my grandmother. It is a sad little tale but is bittersweet for me.

My mother is in my care with alzheimers and we were sitting here a few minutes ago when out of nowhere my momma started singing this song that i hadnt thought of in years. My mom who has trouble remembering my name most days remembered this and I was granted a small glimpse of the woman she used to be. It was a wonderful moment. :)

------ About the song Travelin Through performed by Dolly Parton

Hello
Here I am writing my first review. I heard about this song tonight and very thankful Ive now heard it (many many times !). I know the song was written for Transamerica movie which is on my To Watch list now! I'm not Part of this group but am a gay male. How the song speaks to me is about the hard road Ive travelled being a gastric bypass patient. I've lost 343 pounds and have been called names by both child and adult alike. Also been critized for "taking the easy road" which is quite the contrary if people truly knew how difficult the surgery is.
To all of my brothers and sisters that this song speaks to, please know you aren't alone and Id give each and every one of you a hug and moral support. Keep traveling and I pray your journey is as successful as mine has been. I will share a saying my mom use to tell me when is cry after school when kids were cruel "Always remember that as long as those mean and hateful people are picking on you , that means they are leaving someone else alone who couldnt handled the hatred. You are strong and you are loved for you !" Hugs everyone. -- Chris --

Anthem of acceptance | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Travelin Through performed by Dolly Parton

Heard this song for the first time today; i had to research the lyrics to make sure that I heard them correctly. This song should be sung in every house of worship in the world. What a wonderful expression of acceptance and tolerance. It truly is an anthem of self-acceptance and self-love. I am just sorry that it took me so long to learn about it. Evelyn

I had this song & a few others that I remember on an LP. I remember the artist only as John & Mary (Cassidy?). However that may be because my very Irish Grandparents names were John & Mary. And I am related to Cassidys on my Moms side. This has to be a remake. Another song on that same LP had these lyrics: I'm a rambler I'm a gambler I'm along way from home & if you don't like me well leave me alone. I'll eat when I'm hungary I'll drink when I'm dry & if moonshine don't kill me I'll live till I die. Etc. Does anyone else remember this song?

TV Advertising does work | Reviewer: Ray Mathiesen
------ About the song Jeannie's Afraid Of The Dark performed by Dolly Parton

Personally I can't stand country and western (with only a few exceptions) but I do watch a lot of the US crime and sci-fi TV shows. One of my favourites is True Blood and I've gotten hooked on this track written and sung by Dolly Parton used by the FX channel to plug the new series. I've even gone as far as buying the download. This is the first time in my 62 years that an ad on TV has influenced me to part with money, even if it was only a quid.

My mother taught me this song when I was about 5 or 6 years old. She passed on right after my 8th birthday and I could only remember the first 2 lines of the song. I am so thankful that I have found all the lyrics to the song. I believe my mom brought me to this website.

Little more of the song | Reviewer: Darlene
------ About the song Little Blossom performed by Dolly Parton

My husband used sing this song and make us all cry. He had learned from his mother. It seems that there was another verse that the bartender was not to blame because he had a licence to sell.
