When my mom and I first heard this song ,we were on a roadtrip headed to Montana. I love the high and quirky pitch of Dolly Partona and then that that smooth stprong voice from Norah.The music is great and it has that bluegrass pickin vibe. If this is a true story, then the person who told these children to go home and then listened to their story should have been jailed if not tortured for leaving these two orphans to the elements rather than taking them in or at the very LEAST finding them adequate shelter and care. If this story is fiction, what is the point???!!! Sure it's a tear jerker, but it's morbid and thoughtless! The writer should have come up with a HAPPY ending like ADOPTION!

Yes, when I was just a little punk, watchin' teevee (I think that it was on old Tennesee Ernie Ford's program, a fella sang that tune "I Dreamed Of A Hillbilly Heaven", and it has stuck with me for many, many, many years. What this country is sorely in need of is the kinds of sincerity and fun and down-home talent that was plentiful in the '50s and the '60s; now, wouldn't that be nice to see?
To this day no matter how many times I have heard this song, it always brings me to tears. A song about a lonely child with no security or love. Gets me everytime.
Dolly is the greatest country singer I've ever heard & I hope she continue's on with the brilliant music & movie's she star's in.I hope to one day get the chance to meet her & see her perform in concert.I absolutely love her.

I heard it for the first time the other day. When I heard it on the radio, by jaw dropped...Dolly gave unbelievable justice to this song. She put it to a blue grass sound and it was incredible.
