Dolly Parton Lyrics

Dolly Partons standing as one of the entertainment worlds
most beloved and durable superstars is undeniably assured.
But as the celestial-voiced songstress illustrates on her
new Columbia/Blue Eye album Something Special, the thrill
of making music is far from gone for the dazzling superstar.

Comprised of ten songs written by the prolific yet
extraordinarily profound artist, Something Special reveals
yet new dimensions to Dollys enormous musical gifts. With
such songs as the enchanting Green-Eyed Boy, the
heartbreaking Crippled Bird, More...

Review about Dolly Parton songs
My Grandmother sang this to me | Reviewer: Sherri
------ About the song Two Little Orphans performed by Dolly Parton

I'm so glad to have found the words to this song. My grandmother used to sing it to me when I was little. I could only remember bits and pieces of it and my Grandmother also. In response to the person who wrote that it was "morbid and pointless" has obviously "missed the point"! The song's point is to teach us that it was wrong not to help the children. (Hindsight's 20/20) As I get older, I realize that omitting the unhappy parts to children's stories is creating a generation of unempathic, self centered people who don't understand the consequences of their actions. THE CHOICES WE MAKE EFFECT OTHER PEOPLE!

My grandmother sang this song to me! | Reviewer: Carol Thompson
------ About the song Two Little Orphans performed by Dolly Parton

When I was a little girl (1950s), my grandmother sang this song to me. I don't know why, but I loved it!!- you kind of wonder why a grandmother would sing such a sad song to a little girl; and why a little kid would be so moved by it!! Anyway, I couldn't remember all the words; but these lyrics brought it all back to me! I'm so glad I found them. Thank you to whoever posted them- I've been down Memory Lane! (My grandmother passed away when I was 19) And, to reviewer Mike B. 10/4/08, I am sure that this song is rooted in fact, somehow- you should read up on Irish history- I'd bet money it came out of Ireland. People were destitute- and there was no one to help. Go read Hans Christen Andersen's "The Little Match Girl". It is as sad a story as you'd ever want to read; but, at the same time, there is a "happy ending". These stories/songs had to be influenced by real events! And I am SURE, this song/that story helped make me the generous person I am, today! Maybe that's why the older folks sang/read them to the younger generation!

Think about love (think about me) | Reviewer: Antony kamara
------ About the song Think About Love (think About Me) performed by Dolly Parton

I cant forget you ever since the moment that i met you. You've been in my mind and i need to let you know that i think about you all the time. So when you think about love think about me i can give you more than you'll ever need. Sooner or later every heart needs some company. When you think about love think about me when you think about love think about me. We are strangers now am already wrapped around your finger oh what's a heart to do cause it linger the thought of you wanting me as much as i want you. So when you think about love think about me makes me blue i'm not holding you tonight cause only you can satisfy this heart of mine. So when you think about love think about me so when you think about love think about me.

------ About the song Two Little Orphans performed by Dolly Parton

As a very young boy, maybe When Imwas 4 or 5 years of age, I would sit by the rocking chair and mom would sing this song to mr over and over. I have been hopingntomfind the lyrics for many years, and thanks to my sister-in-law, I have them. That song touches my heart, especially in the winter months, and I still miss mom so very much. Thank you Marie

This is fraud and this song is not sung by Dolly Parton, I wrote it with her in mind, she is not singing it..I want her to. This needs removed, it is fraudulent. Your information was not given to you by Cheryle Linturn and This better be removed. I paid to have a demo made of this song.     ------ About the song Rocky Top performed by Dolly Parton

... to my lips and gets a chuckle from my audience, as well. Sometimes the folks even whoop & holler if it's late in the evening when we play & sing that song. This song's awesome harmony, along with the rather in-your-face lyrics, make for a guaranteed crowd-pleaser every time, unless you're performing for a church group. I've noticed the final verse, listed here, is often left out. Performer's preference, perhaps. Whatever, I love to play & sing this tune, whether before an audience, or relaxing, whenever. My heartfelt thank you, joined with many others, goes out to a great songwriting partnership, Felice and Boudleaux Bryant.

My mother used to sing this song to me and my older sister when we were little. Her mother used to sing it to her and her mother (my great grandmother) to my grandmother. It is a sad little tale but is bittersweet for me.

My mother is in my care with alzheimers and we were sitting here a few minutes ago when out of nowhere my momma started singing this song that i hadnt thought of in years. My mom who has trouble remembering my name most days remembered this and I was granted a small glimpse of the woman she used to be. It was a wonderful moment. :)

------ About the song Travelin Through performed by Dolly Parton

Hello
Here I am writing my first review. I heard about this song tonight and very thankful Ive now heard it (many many times !). I know the song was written for Transamerica movie which is on my To Watch list now! I'm not Part of this group but am a gay male. How the song speaks to me is about the hard road Ive travelled being a gastric bypass patient. I've lost 343 pounds and have been called names by both child and adult alike. Also been critized for "taking the easy road" which is quite the contrary if people truly knew how difficult the surgery is.
To all of my brothers and sisters that this song speaks to, please know you aren't alone and Id give each and every one of you a hug and moral support. Keep traveling and I pray your journey is as successful as mine has been. I will share a saying my mom use to tell me when is cry after school when kids were cruel "Always remember that as long as those mean and hateful people are picking on you , that means they are leaving someone else alone who couldnt handled the hatred. You are strong and you are loved for you !" Hugs everyone. -- Chris --
