Dizzee Rascal Biography

Dizzee is sucha inspiration to me!! it just shows you can be living in a estate like mine and make it big!! can you not even hear his music? Its da bomb;) hes got soul and meaningful lyrics+well fit;) ive grown up loving and listening to his music<3And yeh maybe money's the motavation? But at least he aint a lyer or fake!! Love youu dizzee!!! :*

rascal has a very unique style and english accent sets him apart from every rapper in the USA, of all his work i really love DANCE WITH ME that was the best he have so far (my opinion)with tha accent and style is a matter of time b 4 he hits get those magic lyrics and tune to set him up for life.

Everyone has their prejudices, especially concerning art, and most of these comments reflect a tendency to speak directly from those prejudices as if they are fact.

I am an American white boy writing this from Fort Worth, Texas, and I can easily appreciate Rascal.

If you don't feel he should wear his hat skewed, if you are fed up with capitalist art, fine. If you are allergic to all forms of "rap" and simply don't get it, fine.

I've got a very wide range of artistic taste and am not about to get up in arms defending a specific narrow genre, but I still feel like saying that Dizzee Rascal has real talent, and he uses it well.

There is soul and meaning in his voice and in his words (if you'd prefer him to be saying and meaning something different, that has nothing to do with his artistic talent), and his composition is unique and flexible. If you listen you'll see new sounds and approaches in each song to a depth that affords them the feeling of true creations.

I make music using a computer, and a familiarity with the complexity of the process helps in seeing the cop-outs usually used. Many, many, dear god many mainstream rappers use stock sounds for their percussion, for the five-note synth line, even for the vocoder they feed their voice through. Turn on the radio and you can hear the same "kick", "hi-hat", "clap", and "snare" sounds over and over and over. The percussion lines themselves are so often the simplest possible, like "hi-hat every beat, kick every four beats, and for a crescendo, snare every half-beat, then quarter-beat, then for a second every sixteenth-beat".

Dizzee will use found sounds, unusual instruments, tweaked and interesting synth sounds, and creates a sound that (to me) is exciting as hell.

Another rapper after the cash. Big deal. The guy has some decent stuff, but its not phenomenal. If you like it you like it, if you don't you don't. Either way, he's nothing new, and his motivations are nothing new either. Give me someone whose willing to sing for something other than themselves and I'll open my eyes a little wider. Sick of commercial crap thats all.

I think its pathetic that you can tell people how to hear a regular cap these days. It does look ridiculous. Dont get me wrong i like dizzee but people are entitled to their opinions. "its d style" dont count as a reason why he should wear a baseball cap like that. Good artists invent the style.

Just seen Dizzee on Radio 1's Preston event. Didn't understand a word. Can he slow down please?
Interesting biography. Good to see he has realised that to earn money you have to work at something. Perhaps he can write some lyrics to encourage others into giving education a chance?

dizzee rascal is a complete waste of musical space, he cant rap, he cant sing, he cant write a song without talking about sluts, hes quite simply complete rubbish.

Why does he wear a baseball cap like that, does he think hes going to get free SKY TV reception or something.
He's even been stabbed on holiday for his blatant disregard for musical taste, whats the point in writing lyrics if no one can tell what your saying - ban him at once before children think prancing about on stage wearinga a cap like a satellite dish and "rapping" about people you have given STD's to is the right way to behave.
