Review about Displaced my interpretation | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/28/2008 one of my dearest friends is batteling cancer. this song captures what we are going through. she is a great friend. always was always has been. although sometimes we drift apart, we always re-connect. we can just sit there and laught all night long about the past. we can sit there and cry about the past too. so much has been shared. what can i say, True Friendship. and although we sit in the hospital it all seems so unreal. she cant be sick. i dont want the day to end because i'm afraid it will end. my heart breaks. True friends dont come around every corner. I hope she will be here for many years to come. i know some day we all have to die, but not now not this soon. Well thats what i get from this song. However this person was just a friend and the writer never realized this friend was their true love. He dedicated it to me. We were best friends before we actually realized we were in love. So i'm probably biased... but that's what i understand from it. I think I understand the songs meaning. | Reviewer: Jajica | 4/11/2008 Me and a few friends have discussed this song quite a few times. I think this song is about saying good-bye. It is a simple line, and you do hear it all the time. "Nothing survives" like, all the friendships you have tend to dissappear? She's not too depressed about all those good-byes, like she thinks she should be, but what really lasts? You can only be there for your friends, and you try to catch them when they fall, as in make mistakes. And the friend of friends has been around through all those good-byes. The last lines that say no one survives, is like, everyone dies, or everyone becomes jaded by all of the friendships that naturally wear away, or just fall apart, I can't exactly decide. Wondering if she's made something worthwhile out of this place is wondering whether or not her frienships have been worthwhile, otherwise they're a waste of time. And...then it's a worthless venture, or chase as she says. But I dunno. Love song doesn't exactly fit....except for a few lines. It could be about life in general, but the stress of the lyrics are on people. So it's more on the people in her life.
