Dio's worst album. | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the album Magica performed by Dio

Total crap. Not one good song on this album. I'm a huge fan of Dio's first 4 solo albums, after that I lost interest. I got a copy of this for like a quarter at a yard sale so I checked it out. One listen & it went in the trash...

------ About the album Strange Highways performed by Dio

Who could have thought that it would be possible to listen to metal riffs from start to finish with bated breath. Dio showed a remarkable ability to pick someone whose playing could be compared to the great Tony Iommi. Tracy G came out of nowhere and made every single Dio fan sit and wonder. He helped Ronnie create an album which some people play more often than Dehumanizer! Vinny Appice joins this heavy metal feast by unusually harsh and aggressive drumming. A great change for the better - each song is an instant hit! An album which is a must for any proud metalhead. Period.

    Sacred Heart | Reviewer: LAV
------ About the album Sacred Heart performed by Dio

A little step back as compared to the previous two classics, but the title track and Rock'n'Roll Children are pure diamonds on that album. Dio is in top shape as always, but Campbell's contribution seems to be a lot less here. You could feel that there was something wrong with the band. And sure enough soon afterwards Vivian split-up and an ugly feud between him and Ronnie began ..

------ About the album Master Of The Moon performed by Dio

Dio's last solo album before he joined the Sabbath guys to form his last band called Heaven amd Hell. The melodies are interesting in some parts, Dio's vocals are great, Goldy demonstrates some pretty good licks. However, all in all the album is as generic as Killing the Dragon and by the end you can't wait for the end to come and just wish that Campbell would get back, or even Tracy G for that matter. At least, there was never a dull moment with those two ...

    Magica | Reviewer: LAV
------ About the album Magica performed by Dio

The first and sadly the last of Dio's conceptual albums.
The plot is primitive, but the performance was good. Goldy shows some improvement in his solo approach. Dio is in great shape as usual. However, for a reason, some people just listen to the Lord of the Last Day and refuse to proceed to the other tunes on that album. Well, maybe also Fever Dreams ...

Lock Up the Wolves | Reviewer: LAV
------ About the album Lock Up The Wolves performed by Dio

Dio's fifth album. A bit heavier than Dream Evil, but there is a little less of the famous Dio magic. Just a heavy rock album with some good musicians. Robertson had a few interesting moments, and some of the tunes were not that bad. But oddly enough, when Dio resumed his solo career after 1992 he hardly ever played any songs from this weird album at his gigs ...

Last in Line | Reviewer: LAV
------ About the album The Last In Line performed by Dio

This is the album which occupies the same place in Dio's career as Holy Diver. The songs are even more varied than those on the first album. The joint effort of Dio, Campbell, and Appice proved to be just brilliant. A rare case when the follow-up release is worthy of being called another true masterpiece. Quite a few tunes that might be called a stamp of a genius - We Rock, The Last in Line, I speed at Night, One Night in the City, Evil Eyes, Mystery, Egypt. You can play this album at least twice every day and never get bored. Good job!

Killing the Dragon | Reviewer: LAV
------ About the album Killing The Dragon performed by Dio

A wonderfully produced album by Dio. Dio's voice and Aldrich's guitar solos are great. But the songs ... are crushingly boring to my taste ... well, nothing out of the ordinary, to say the least. Except maybe for the title track and Push.

    Intermission | Reviewer: LAV
------ About the album Intermission performed by Dio

Dio's first live release. Strong point: Dio, Campbell, and Appice are superb as usual. Weak points: too short and horribly produced. Should have been remixed a long time ago but it is never too late to make up for the lost time. Wendy ought to get down to it as soon as possible.
