"Dinosaur Jr. was largely responsible for returning lead
guitar to indie-rock and, along with their peers the
Pixies, they injected late-'80s alternative rock with
monumental levels of pure guitar noise. As the group's
career progressed, it turned into a vehicle for J. Mascis'
songwriting and playing, which had the ultimate result of
turning Dinosaur's albums into largely similar affairs.

This is the good stuff. I know I'm sounding like a total hipster (bad thing) when I say that that music doesn't come this pure these days. Pure creativity. Bands like Dinosaur Jr., NIrvana, Sonic Youth, etc. really knew what they were doing back then.

though this track is about 14 years old, it still holds up. Dino Jr. has withstood the test of time. still one of favorite bands to this day, revisiting this track never gets old. pieced together so well with a tight rhythm section and the wailing characteristics of Jay's guitar bravado, this song is still one of my favorites. this piece is the perfect demonstration as to why this band has transcended the rock genre. hats off to Lou, Murph, and Jay.

In my late 40's now -I/ve learned never to argue music tastes w/friends . Music affects each of us differently ,often in deeply personal way . For many years this song has haunted me- its melody ,the way he sings it ,the somber chords he chose to play on guitar . This song has always made me a litle sad and the song has more meaning to me now as I've lost my older brother, my friend to cancer . I stumbled onto this site and have read the other two reviews -obviously this 6 minute piece of music has touched us and I don't think we are alone . Jason , you wrote you can't explain how this song makes you feel -that sentence says it all . I know what you mean- I think the feeling is melencholy , that feeling of sadness over lost loved ones , lost parents , failed relationships ,everything thats makes life hard .

I've heard this song for the 1st time (at least that I can recall) a short while before my lovely dog (that was more like a sister to me) had passed away. I assume this song is written for someone who died, and is not just another breakup song. This song really reminds me of my precious Angie, and is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. If anyone of the band happens to see this - Thank you!
