Dimension Seven is formed by guitarist 474C44, bassist P, singer Joke and drummer Spooky. Following the footsteps of bands like Meshuggah, Coal Chamber and System Of A Down, the band plays songs that are a mixture of heavy metal, crossover and groovecore ('nu metal').

Dimension Seven becomes second in the Grand Prix of the Netherlands talent show. They are also awarded 'best live act' and they win the public award.

The band tours Switzerland, Germany and the Czech Republic (in Prague they are support act for Machine Head). In August they begin sessions for the recording of their debut album. Although they haven't been very successful scoring a recording deal, they do manage to get a distribution deal with Zomba records. In the meantime the band wins the Metal Bash 2000, which is organized by hard rock magazine Aardschok.

In January the band plays at the Noorderslag festival. In April their self-released debut album 10 Ways To Hate comes out and receives favourable reviews. Especially the growling vocals and the dynamics of the songs are praised.
