Dillinger Escape Plan Lyrics
Episode 1 of the 3 part mini series
"We're not going to suck anymore." I was on the phone away
for my junior year of college when Ben called me up in the
middle of the night excited. My response normally would
have been something akin to "cool", but that night I could
tell it was something different. What I didn't know is that
this was the beginning of something that has had an imprint
on almost every day of all of our lives since then.
The first Dillinger Escape Plan show was also the last show

------ About the song Unretrofied performed by Dillinger Escape Plan
A lot of people missed the point of the song. I think it's the deepest song on miss machine, the album name is probably named after this song, and the cover art. Human and machines become more and more similar : Now they're looting our holes until there is nothing left. With cars and everything : I can't even walk. Don't you find ironic they choose an electronic song to express this feeling, we are more and more machines, we are dead.

Its a great song. It isn't their best, but its up there. Its hard to determine what is regular DEP, because they are such an experimental band, and that is what makes them so great. They can make that leap of faith off the beaten path of the typical screamo, emo, industrial, alternative, or even death metal genres. Best song: Milk Lizard,or Mona Lisa.

This song is quite good, but to all the retards who's saying it's Dillinger's best song, WTF?!
If you're not a DEP fan, then you're forgiven, but everyone who likes the rest of DEP and says this is their best doesn't deserve to listen to them.

------ About the song Unretrofied performed by Dillinger Escape Plan
"All above I hear people "Ohmygod this is easily their best song ever", and these people- I'm sorry to say- have completely missed out on Dillinger Escape Plan as a band and the hardcore sound as a whole. It's actually kind of funny, the point of the song is mentioned in the lyrics (as far as I interpret it): "I'll just fake it in the end/Just save it for a new song and leave dead in the end."- It's almost a complete announcement that this song is completely atypical from the rest of their repetoire. Yeah, it's got hardcore elements, but it's just not Dillinger- they could "Retrofy", go back to the roots of Minakakis and Pennie with absolutely fucking odd time signatures and bloody murder lyrics, or they could "Unretrofy"- they could absolutely undo every single development of their style, and move "forward" to a watered-down, digestible, WWE-worthy numetal sound.
For those who don't know, This song is simultaneously a shot in the foot and an admission that they know exactly what they're doing by pointing the gun and pulling the trigger."
^yep that is 100% right and thts why this song is so cool... its obviously not there best song (i agree with whoever said 43% burnt was the best) but it shows how awesome dillinger is because they do know what they are doing and more importantly they are doing what they want and not selling out.. its so funny and it really shows how awesome this band is..
p.s the music video for this song is sweet

Yeah, like everyone said before, it's a great song but I don't think it's their best. This is a totally different genre than what they normally do. Personally I love this song. As much as I love good chords and odd meter, the hardcore is too much, just can't get into it. Math rock is definatly the best. Don't get me wrong either, I think Dillinger Escape Plan is easily the most talented band in mainstream(somewhat at least) rock.

I agree, its not typical dillinger, but its easily thier best song. It got me into dillinger, and although I like their kinda music, i was shocked (in a nice way) about how they sounded. They are definitely worth a listen for hardcore fans.
