Ozzy Osbourne Diary of a Madman Lyrics

Last updated: 07/16/2013 05:29:05 PM

Screaming at the window
Watch me die another day
Hopeless situation endless price I have to pay

Sanity now it's beyond me there's no choice

Diary of a madman
Walk the line again today
Entries of confusion
Dear diary I'm here to stay

Manic depression befriends me
Hear his voice
Sanity now it's beyond me
There's no choice

A sickened mind and spirit
The mirror tells me lies
Could I mistake myself for someone
Who lives behind my eyes
Will he escape my soul
Or will he live in me
Is he tryin' to get out or tryin' to enter me

Voices in the darkness
Scream away my mental health
Can I ask a question
To help me save me from myself

Enemies fill up the pages
Are they me
Monday till Sunday in stages
Set me free

Stroke of genius | Reviewer: Gus | 7/16/13

Like the tittle says, this song is stroke of genius. Not only is it my favorite Ozzy song ever, but I think it's probably the only one that can compare with the first five Sabbath albums.Everything about this song is beautiful.Ozzy's vocals, Randy's guitar, Bob's lyrics, and the ending, oh my god, the ending is orgasmic.

WHAT ABOUT THE CHOIR | Reviewer: Rosey | 4/12/13

Will somebody please tell me what the song/chant/choir is at the end of Ozzy's Diary of a Madman? Is it from a known classical piece or was it written specifically for this song?

Bob Daisley is the man | Reviewer: AlienJesus | 10/8/12

Like Randy Freak said, Bob Daisley wrote nearly all of Ozzy's lyrics for the first 3 albums and is the real genius behind the first two Ozzy records. It's sad that Ozzy or his record company went and remixed this album and Blizzard of Oz with a different drummer and bass player to avoid paying those guys royalties. I like Ozzy's performances on his first two albums and the Black Sabbath stuff which was mainly all written by Geezer Butler but Ozzy himself is not the magic behind the music. He's just a singer and while I like his voice he's not the greatest singer in the world. The backhanded business practices and redoing these first two albums with different musicians than the guys who actually created it to begin with is really cheap. Screw Ozzy.

Bob Daisley Wrote the lyrics to this | Reviewer: RandyFreak | 12/25/11

One of the chief architects of Ozzy's career (along with Randy Rhoads) was Bob Daisley. He wrote 100% of the lyrics to this brilliant (work of genius imo) song and 99% of the lyrics to Ozzy's songs from Blizzard, Diary and Bark at the Moon.

Brilliant | Reviewer: Jenica | 8/29/11

I can relate to this song so much. I've only listened to it three times and I already love it. I love Ozzy. I grew up on him because my mom's a total Ozzy fan (she wants to marry him even though she's like 42 haha).
I love Ozzy.

Wickedly Clever | Reviewer: Rick | 5/22/10

They just don't make'em like this anymore. Lyrics truly capture and display a madman's mentality, I like venting thru the song during challenging times to actually keep mental health. Guitar work is a true benchmark. Thank you Ozzy & Randy!

saddest day | Reviewer: mailem | 11/8/08

A friend in high school requested this song be played at his funeral in his suicide note. The saddest part was when his sister hit the play button and Ozzy warbled out, "We forgot to get batteries!" His sister cried.

Haunting | Reviewer: Jeff | 4/16/08

Growing up I would listen to this song over and over. Eyes closed, just me and the song. Truly one of Ozzy's best. Randy's guitar work is above and beyond anything recorded up to that point. A perfect way to end one of metal's best albums.

Diary ... | Reviewer: Bill | 6/5/07

Ozzy's first great song after leaving Sabbath (in my opinion),mixed with the genius guitar work of Randy Rhodes
