Her First Mini Masterpiece | Reviewer: Luis Boki | 11/8/11

With 4 hit singles to boast, The Black Album became the template for what a Diana Ross pop masterpiece would look like. 2 #1 pop hits, 1 dance classic, several adult contemporary smashes make this a compelling entry into her discography. A little Broadway in her reading of "Smile", Diana also self produces once again to respectable results.
The artwork is stunning as Victor Skrebeneski gave her an iconic album cover that had the subtitle of, The Black Album. A definite above average effort, it has aged beautifully. The only perplexing thing is how could NARAS ignore her for a pop Grammy nod in "Theme from "Mahogany" or dance in "Love Hangover" and a pop album of the year.
