Detonation Lyrics

Review The Song (17)Print the Lyrics
Thats the sound of humanity melting away
Say goodbye it's the end of days
Fire rains down on the American dream
Watch all you love seethe and scream
Each will dig their own graves
And bury themselves in life's failures
It's our bombs we've masterminded lighting the skies
Hideous misfires many die
Those who survive soon will suffocate
By the poisons we create
Each will dig their own graves
And bury themselves in life's failures
De-to-na-tion
De-to-na-tion
When civilization crumbles man will turn
On one another killing true
(guitar solo)
The darkest of times will then come to be
Through our selfish killer instincts
And now the ground we called our home
Is but a barren wasteland
The only sound drowning your cries
Is the detonation
(guitar solo)
It seems we're running out of time
All good as dead just stand in line
(guitar solo)
And now the ground we called our home
Is but a barren wasteland
The only sound drowning your cries
Is the detonation
(guitar solo)

Review about Detonation

Trivium is the... | Reviewer: Mert O. | 4/12/09

only band that rips off and gets away with it! Clean vocals are OK but if you realize that this band has changed their style and you won't like this. Also, what with the Slayer solo?! King would be pissed off but he knows that you guys aren't the only ones riping Slayer off. Breakdown was boring.

Overall 3/10

Whoa | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/12/08

The solo and end of the song scream Slayer Solo's. Trivium is the most Awesomest band I have ever heard/seen. the whole album is a revolutionary album. from the murder of innocent people to a corrupt government and an Instrumental this has it all.

insane | Reviewer: death | 2/17/08

i luv this song it is lik the sikkest shit i hav heard from a band in awhil. lyrics that revolve around death and war r intense and insane. this song has amazin vocals intense drums and crazy guitar. THIS is 1 of the songs trivium shud b most proud of.

Awesome. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/3/08

Joel, before comparing two people of topics you have no idea on, do research. M. Shadows did NOT damage his throat. I'm sick of people saying this. Listen to their DVD. Right from their Waking the Falling album, they wanted to do a half screaming album, and then an album with little or no screaming. I heard Various things about Trivium, and why they screamed at first. All of which revolve around him not being able to sing well, for various reasons. Anyway, Trivium, in my opinion, is up at my favorite bands. They do sound like they have a Metallica influence, sorta, but IMO, better and cleaner than any Metallica song was. Trivium kicks pretty much total ass.

I can't believe Matt Said that | Reviewer: Joel | 12/9/07

Metallica have made some of the greatest metal albums in history inculding Kill Em all and Master Of Puppets. BLASPHOMY saying Crusade is better than anything Metallica have come up with.

As for the song, good but the reasons for improvement have been listed.
But Trivium technically "Made it" when they broke into Mainstream with Gunshot to The head of Trepedation and Pull Harder on the Strings of your martyr. So what Alex said is wrong.

And didn't Matt get close to having the same problem as Matt Tuck and M Shadows. Becuase of his screamin he'd damaged his vocal chords so his throat doctor had given him advice to stop screamin or else it would become more severe (That's what I heard anyway)

Uhh.... | Reviewer: Jacen6788 | 9/11/07

I love the song... Trivium rocks... but... these lyrics are wrong. 2:17 in the song is the easiest error to spot.

vocals | Reviewer: richard | 7/24/07

alex is right i have read the exact same thing and im slightly trivium obsessed it has nothing to do with 'making it' bands like lamb of god have 'made it' and they scream and sound good doing it!

I'm tired of people giving false reasons as to why Matt doesn't scream anymore. It's not because a few people said they didn't like it, and it's not because he wanted to "make it" in the U.S. He never wanted to scream in the first place. When Trivium first started Matt had just come out of puberty, so when he tried to sing his voice would often crack so he decided to scream. Then once he felt he could sing a little better (Ascendancy) he decided to scream and sing. Then once he felt he could finally sing (The Crusade) he dropped screaming and finally sang, like he wanted to. Don't believe me? That's fine, just watch the Trivium Metal Hammer Press Conference videos on Youtube.

Trivium's new style must be atleast slightly different to Metallica, because i cant stand listening to Metallica, whereas im a huge Trivium fan. I dont understand how from one album everyone can change there mind about Trivium. I think The Crusade is slightly better than Ascendancy, and by far better than anything Metallica has come up with.

First time I heard this album, detonation first obviously, I totally heard metallica influence. If you disagree with that you are mental yourself. I think it's a great song, progresses well and is clean. But definitely going for a more metallica flavour with the vocals and possibly even some of the lead guitar.
