They've always said that there purpose was to save lives. I mean it saved Gerard's life.. twice! I realize I'm young (13) and you'd think I wouldn't have much experience or input on this topic. I can't say that I ever used drugs or was an acoholic. I can say I was depressed for numerous years leading me to self-harm and eventually suicidal. As you can tell I never got that far. In October 2006 I discovered My Chemical Romance. When they first caught my eye I thought they were emo. At the time, I thought I had to be emo to like them. So my "mental state" declined. As I grew to love them, I threw out the stereotypes and became the person I wanted. As did Gerard. Some might say they were the cause for my behavior, but I believe they saved my life. Though I'm not completely happy and "recovered", I'm better now than I was then. I owe them my life. He can sing, play guitar, act, draw and he's a fucking genius with words. Seriously, the songs he has written are like they are like onions or even better, lasagna. The have the outside layer that has a meaning that anyone could relate to, because everyone interprets the outside layer in their own way. Then theres a second layer, that tells a story, usually about love, depression or hate. Then there is a third layer that really only people who have ever felt like the second layer can understand. The third layer is backed up by music and its about the feeling in layer 2, describing it, explaining, really getting the message across. I love My Chemical Romance. They are such a talented bunch. And the first of december, when I saw then in concert, was the greatest night of my life. When he got sober, he was more happy, and I guess he intended their fans to grow emotionally with them. For them to be happy.
