Deride started in the fall of 1995 in Bergen, Norway. The band was originally Børre H. Michelsen - vocals, Ole Walaunet - guitars, Johan Alme - bass & backing vocals and Kjetil Greve - drums. The 11th of May 1996, Deride had their first gig at the local Rock Pub 'Garage', where they impressed everybody with their raw, untamed force. The press described the gig as one of the best debuts ever seen in Bergen. Over the next two years Deride did more live shows both in Bergen and out of town. The biggest highlight of the live stage was perhaps when Deride was an opening act for the Swedish metal band Entombed at 'Hulen' in Bergen. Of other highlights was the release of the self-financed mini-cd, simply entitled 'Deride'. This consisted of four tunes: 'Never Again More...
