Decompression Period Lyrics - Papa Roach

Review The Song (5)

Here today gone today
Hurry up and wait
I'm never there for you or me
Can't you read
the story of our lives
Death to me
and life for you
Something isn't right
And I need some space
to clear my head
to think about my life

And I can't be alone

I just need some space
To clear my head to think about my life
With or without you

We fight it out
sponsored links
We work it out
Give me some time to unwind (x2)

I must confess
I'm falling apart
Breaking your heart
Crying with you on the phone
We're walking
on thin ice
I hope it doesn't break

and I need some space
To clear my head to think about my life
With or without you

We fight it out
We work it out
Give me some time to unwind
We fight it out
We work it out
Give me some time
with or without you

Mile by mile we're farther apart
now it's one empty bottle
And two broken hearts
Night after night we are falling apart
Now it's two broken bottles
And four empty hearts

Decompression
Depression period (x4)

and I need some space
to clear my head
to think about my life
with or without you
and I'm never there
for you or me
can't you read
the story of our lives

I don't ever get tired of this song. It is one of those pieces of music that can mean something just a little different to everyone that has really taken the time to listen to what the words represent. This is a very emotional song not just by the lyrics, but also with the music that perfectly fits the lyrics. Of course I have my own personal feelings of what this song talks about in my own life, but think it is about life on the road touring for the singer. I see it as his relationship is taking the back seat to touring and falling apart. Everybody has to have alone time to think about what is happening in their lives and reflect so that you can deal with your personal issues. But he never has this and it tears him down everyday to the point where his relationship is a choice now. How can he make both having the life of being in his band, and being in love work? I picture a man sitting in a room alone trying to think, and after fighting with his girlfriend on the phone throws a beer bottle at the wall...the weight of everything makes him start fighting with his friends or bandmates and he throws another bottle against the wall walking outside to get away from everyone just trying to be alone.

Once again, a masterpiece is discovered. | Reviewer: Shelbie | 1/24/08

This song is beautiful, in a slightly morbid way. Jacoby has the best voice ever, he can sing fairly gently, and then scream, and sound great the entire time. And I can really feel the lyrics. They're so deep.

------ About the song Decompression Period performed by Papa Roach | Reviewer: Steph | 6/20/07

The singer's name is Jacoby Shaddix. He went through a lot of shit in his life, and needed to express it. Thus, this song was written. It's not just one of those sappy sad songs a lot of bands write, this is really deep.

this is about being depressed. the singer (can't think of name rite now) is dipressed and that's how he came up with this song.
