Review The Song (62)Print the Lyrics
Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play
Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day
The sun is up, the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you
Dear Prudence won't you come out to play

Dear Prudence open up your eyes
Dear Prudence see the sunny skies
The wind is low the birds will sing
That you are part of everything
Dear Prudence won't you open up your eyes?

Look around round round
Look around round round
Look around round round

Dear Prudence let me see you smile
Dear Prudence like a little child
The clouds will be a daisy chain
So let me see you smile again
Dear Prudence won't you let me see you smile?

Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play
Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day
The sun is up, the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you
Dear Prudence won't you come out to play

I was watching a movie across the universe or something like that i thought that it was cool my name was in it. Then all of a sudden they started to sing the song i freaked out becaues my name is prudence and i never knew that my name would be in a song because it is so unique.

    amazing! | Reviewer: gabriella guerra | 4/9/2008

this song is amazing and i think that we should listen to this song in those moments where we are prudence and we need to be told all of that stuff sometimes...somtimes we need to tell ourselves this lyrics=)

you can still be considered a true beatles fan, even if you started liking them through the movie. It doesn't matter how or when you decide to be a fan, what matters is if you appreaciate their music.

    Love | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/1/2008

I've always liked The Beatles but was never THAT familiar with them. I watched Across the Universe not having a clue that it had anything to do with them. Haha. I love the originals and remakes immensely. And just attend Beatle Fest in New Jersey this weekend :) Spectacular.

    love it! | Reviewer: athena | 3/23/2008

i was moved by the movie. i am a fan of the beatles but hearing a new arrangement for their songs makes me happy though nothing compares to the original. i love the rendition of dear prudence. it is so mellow.

lets just get this straight: the beatles are amazing. and i thought the movie was good. the plot was nice and it really captured the essence of the sixties and portrayed the events well. the remakes of the songs were good, too. i think that its great that the movie created more fans. i agree that some are just "following a trend", but another handful are becoming true admirers of their music. and of course the remakes arent going to live up to the originals. umm, they are remakes?
and thats all i've got to say. haha.
    on another subject..
i love this song<3 its one of my favorites. my friend ashlee is obsessed with the beatles, and before i knew her i didnt really know anything about their music. im so happy i met her! the beatles are now one of my favorite artists (:
    yaaayy for Prudence(:

Let it Be | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/15/2008

I'll admit that most of the songs in Accross the universe, whilemoving, were not quite as good as the originals. Joe Cockr and Bono came close on a couple of them. But there was one, that far outshone the beatles version. Let it be in the movie made e cry. It made me see the song, as I had never seen it. I was a masterfull scene. And as the old saying ges, fromt he mouthes of babs comes great wisdom. So let us all stop this bickering, and let it be. Let's follow those words of wisdom that were laid down before us buy a great group of guys who we all claim to love.

Cant you see | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/15/2008

I dont know why so many people are so hostile about this issue =) yea, the Beatles were wonderfuly amazing all along...I started listening to the beatles tripping on lucy ;) I actually didn't even know about the movie till a friend suggested I see it...but when I did see it, I was blown away! I wouldnt say either or is better than the other, the origionals are unbeatable, but the movie is so unique. I think you should all have appreciation for both!

Come on guys | Reviewer: Liz | 3/11/2008

What the heck guys, stop complaining!
All I have to say about the Across the Universe thing is: Yeah, I'll admit that I got into the Beatles because of that movie. I have been exposed to them before that, coming from a very musical family, but I never really got into it until that movie. Yeah, sure the Beatles are better than the movie. They wrote the freaking songs guys, that's a given. maybe this is just me, but I found that the movie gave the Beatles some credit in the teenager world that maybe they did have before. I consider myself a true Beatles fan, and i'm not ashamed to admit that the movie started it. Thank you.
Now about this amazing song! It's so simple and graceful, and it relects the revolutionary talents of the Beatles, in more of a songwriting sense. It's not nessicarily the most challenging song musically, but it's still brilliant in it's simplicity.
