Dead Prez Lyrics
One day a man saw a butterfly shuddering on the sidewalk
locked in a seemingly hopeless struggle to free itself from
its now useless cocoon.
Feeling pity, he took a pocket knife, carefully cut away
the cocoon and set the butterfly free. To his dismay it lay
on the sidewalk, convulsed weakly for a while, and died.
A biologist later told him, "That's the worst thing you
could have done! A butterfly needs that struggle to develop
the muscles to fly. By robbing him of the struggle, you
made him too weak to live."

------ About the song I'm a African performed by Dead PrezFirst off, Rastas worship Haile Selassie I, who is was the black king of Ethiopia (part of Africa, infact the only part of africa that remained independent post-imperialism, the main reason rastas choose him and consider him the life long king of african freedom). Which is also why Dead Prez supports and puts out songs with many rasta artists. They also have songs supporting tenents of the rasta faith, and many times speak of Marcus Garvey, the "prophet" responsible for Rasta livity (check OG Original Garvey by DP)
Religion isnt always the criminal, just check out buddhism and other non-controlling, non-structured religion. The problem is that through belief, power is given to priests and bishops, who then use it to opress who they dont want in thier churches and temples. But hating religion and "hoping to slaughter 10000's of animals" is the very PROBLEM with religion, just because you're not religious doesnt mean your not a religious zealot. OUR WEAKNESS IS OUR LACK OF UNITY NOT SOME LACK OF HATRED.

------ About the song I'm a African performed by Dead PrezMi njani: how you doing
this religion shit is killing our people. black christians worship a roman/jewish jesus, ratafarians worship an arab selasie. how do you expect them to kill thier "gods" because they do need to die,all of them until this world is left to one race, the only race, the BlACK race.
By my time i hope to have slaughtered at least 10000 of these animals. they wont survive neither will i but the BLACK race will live forever. Mavoko! Henhla!
