The Dave Matthews Band formed in Charlottesville, Virginia,
in early 1991, when vocalist/guitarist Dave Matthews
decided to put some songs he had written on tape. Instead
of simply recording himself with a guitar, he opted to

Obviously Dave here is talking about how religion is wrong. How can you guys be so stupid to think that he is condoning religion or that he is trying to steer us toward the path to heaven. God, fucking idiot Christians just go die in a fire for your God.

Dave is talking about how righteous and "holy" you fucking religious tards are (or claim to be).

Sheeh, it doesn't take more than 2 brain-cells to figure out the message but then again in America where 80% of the people are Christian, I'm not surprised that people would actually interpret the song as something positive for their religion.

Go figure. Grow up and stop believing in fairy-tales.

I started listening to DMB back in 1994 when I was in the 8th grade and I have loved them ever since! I've seen them perform live more times than I can count but this song has always been one of my favorites! I know he wrote it about legal issues, but that's the beauty of how Dave writes! I honestly just heard this song for the first time today and it broke my heart. I am 27 years old and lost my sister almost 9 1/2 years ago, when she was only 27, from Cervical cancer. I am now an only child and that her death is something that I deal with everyday. I am also getting married next year and still have no idea how I'm going to go through with it without her. I miss her more than words could say and my heart will always belong to her.

DMB... what can I say? He sings on such deepness, how does he accurately portray inner turmoil?

I've struggled with bulimia for the past eight years. Forgive the description and mental image, but when I would purge my colorful cereal, it would be grey. As I stared down into the toilet, I would wonder what the freak I was doing, and how do I get out here?!?!

I have listened to more music at the age of 25 than most people probably ever will, and this song is my #1 of all time. The fact that I don't even understand exactly what he's talking about makes it that much more powerful.
To me it is a love song about a man who wants to give his love to someone, but there is some unknown thing blocking it.
DMB makes emotional connections that rank right up there with the likes of the Grateful Dead, Pearl Jam, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Modest Mouse, the Beatles, and dare I say Adele, just to plug a few.
