Dave Days Biography

Overdaedge182 was Dave’s first channel on YouTube. At the time, Dave was writing music, but was too cautious to publish his art. He would often come home after school and write music to his own liking, and play with his band, Laidout.
One day after school, Dave and his friends were on YouTube watching a a popular kid talk about his day-to-day life and talk about his problems. This young kid, was Daxflame. Dave loved Daxflame‘s work, and thought it was hilarious. He then thought, if a young boy with these kind of social issues could get big on YouTube, why couldn’t he? Dave wrote his first song for YouTube, about his new hero. The song was called My Daxflame Song. Dave now had his YouTube career under way.
Much like Daxflame, Dave started creating daily vlogs where he talked about his own life. He got frustrated that his view count was not increasing very well and started to spam popular channels. He would spam the channels asking viewers to go to his page and watch his videos. Unfortunately for Dave, he commented too many times on LisaNova’s channel, which got him automatically banned. Dave was furious at Lisanova, without knowing that the ban was automatically done by YouTube. Dave then wrote a song called LisaPwnda. The song explained his rage that he got banned, how she is extremely not funny and explaining how he is going to get back at her (which he obviously did) for what she did to him.
Dave had also put out other videos and songs around the same time. Most notably songs like Chocolate Rain, YouTube Song
and Tube It.
Dave slowly stopped making vlogs over a large span of time, but increased in the amount of songs and skits he put up. His songs were getting better and better, and Dave realized he might be going somewhere with this. To much appreciation, dave dropped the name Overdaedge182 because people would often read it wrong and it was never the easiest channel name to remember. Dave then had to decide on a new name. ThursDave was one of his options but alternatively liked the name Dave Days.

Dave started his new account with a bright future ahead of him. He wanted to become a YouTube celebrity, but Overdaedge182 wasn’t cutting it for him. He was hoping that DaveDays would take him to stardom.
His new songs were becoming more and more popular. Songs like I Had to Tell You, My Computer Sucks and videos like “Normal Instant Messaging Convo LOL ROFL LMAO” and “Back Flip Tutorial” all got the attention of many YouTube viewers. In just under a month, Dave already struck 3,000 subscribers with his new account. In 2007, this was a huge feat.

Dave continued to write songs and create skits. He then created a song which created much controversy, but also created a strong fan base. The Pervert Song was released along with an image on his channel of what appeared to be a woman’s skirt. The whole video was explaining how the user was a pervert because all along, the skirt was actually a picture of a Barbie doll, and he was claiming they were perverts for clicking this sort of profane image.
Many users critisized Dave for using an inappropriate image to attract viewers, and for playing with Barbies. Dave took this as a joke and rode on it for some time, creating a few videos joking how he doesn’t play with Barbies (while the dolls are in his hand).
Dave then wrote a cover song of the popular “I’ve Got a Crush on Obama” which Dave changed to “I’ve Got a Crush on Hilary (Clinton)“. The song became quite popular, and earned Dave an interview with MSNBC on national television. There was also another clip that MSNBC had broadcasted about a “Boy with a crush” referring to Dave, and his Hilary Crush song.
Many songs and skits came after including “Katie’s Song” which was written about another YouTuber he had a crush on; “No One“, a cover of Alicia Keys; and “The Nice Kitty Song“, which was a response to SMPFilm’s video which talked about how evil his cat was.
Dave was on his way to stardom, and already achieving the goal of becoming a YouTube celebrity. He didn’t know it, but the next thing he purchased would change his life forever, the Miley Cyrus cutout.
——————————————————————————————————————————————————-
The Miley Cyrus cutout brought instant fame to Dave Days. The cutout was first seen in April of 2008 in Dave Days’s Miley I Can’t Wait to See You music video. It made many more appearances in videos including Dave Days’s – 7 Things which to date has over 27 million views. In August of 2008, Dave had a contest with sXePhil, ShayCarl, itsBrent and CharlesTrippy to see who could stay up the latest with no sleep. Unfortunately for Dave, he lost the contest to ShayCarl, and as a punishment for his loss he had to burn the Miley Cyrus cutout. Dave filmed a video for the song Burning Up Miley (parody of Jonas Brothers) which showed him preparing to burn the cutout. When Dave finally lit the cardboard on fire at the end of the video; to much of the audience’s surprise, the Miley cardboard turned into a Hilary Clinton cardboard cutout, which was evidently burned instead. The video shows Dave’s friend, Chris Crawford, running away with the Miley cardboard. The cardboard didn’t make as many appearances after that. Chris created a parody song called Dave Days Doesn’t Know in which he describes how Dave has no idea that he has a “thing” with the Miley cutout.
Soon after on March 15, 2009, Dave released his first album called The Dave Days Show which featured 18* songs all of pre-released material by Dave**. The cover of the album features Dave, the Miley cutout, Dave’s cat, Persia, and Chris. Soon after the album was released, Dave made a front-row appearance at a Miley Cyrus concert in which he handed her a toy rose during Miley’s performance. Miley later responded to Dave on her Twitter account,
@davedays thanks for the rose :)
This brought a great deal of excitement to Dave. He produced many new songs including covers of Taylor Swift – Love Story, Jay Sean – Down and parodies including Justin Bieber – Baby and Owl City – Fireflies. Dave was at an all-time high for his musical career, until he received a very important e-mail. In early 2010, Dave received an e-mail from Disney asking if he would like to create a video with Miley Cyrus.

Dave’s first reaction was it was either spam or just a fan trying to get some attention. Dave decided to respond anyway, which ended up being a good decision. It ended up being legitimate, and Dave was given permission to shoot a video with Miley Cyrus, but was only given 15 minutes. Soon after, Miley Cyrus, Dave Days, and Dave’s filming crew filmed the music video for Last Song, which was promptly about Dave ending his relationship with the Miley cutout for good…

Dave has done a great deal of work since Miley Cyrus’s appearance in his video. Very soon after, Dave hit 1,000,000 subscribers. To celebrate, he made a parody video of KassemG‘s California On, in which Dave asked random people on the street what they thought of Dave Days reaching a million subscribers. To much of Dave’s surprise a few people recognized him, but most had no idea who he was. Since then, he has released Olive You (with Kimmi Smiles) on iTunes as well as his EP Dinner and a Movie which features all unreleased, original music.
