Review about Dance With the Devil Damn..........this song is incredible | Reviewer: James | 2/15/2008 Im not a big hip hop/rap fan but this song was just brought to my attention and I must say........it is without a doubt one of the most important, moving, tense, deep, well constructed SONGS (as in all songs no matter what what music genre) I have ever heard. I was speechless, talk about use your ART (I dont consider alot of hip hop to be art these days but this song truelly is) to tell a harsh/true to life story and make a huge point/impact!.........the use of the classical music to soften the undertone and make the message hit even harder!.........genius. Currently im attending a university in upstate ny where 90% of the students are caucasian kids from the suburbs of suburbs that listen to heavy metal or janis joplin- which is fine, ofcourse. However, being from the city, their ignorance-at times, is VERY annoying. We have an english project where we must all review a song and explain its depth and content. EVERYONE in my class brought in some alternative, weird shit and all somehow mentioned how crappy rap music is, which a lot of it these days is trash. I do agree with their statements, however i felt i had to make a statement about hip hop, even though i am not a huge rap fan myself.
