Dance Gavin Dance Lyrics

Emo-leaning and volatile post-hardcore outfit Dance Gavin
Dance, somewhat similar to peers Chiodos and the Fall of
Troy, feature former members of Farewell Unknown and Ghost
Runner on Third, two alums of Seattle's Less Avenged
Records. The Sacramento crew is comprised of vocalists
Jonny Craig (singing) and Jonathan Mess (screaming),
guitarists Will Swan and Sean O'Sullivan, bassist Eric
Lodge, and drummer Matt Mingus. The sextet hooked up with
Rise Records in late summer 2006 and debuted that November
with the EP Whatever I Say Is More...

------ About the song And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman performed by Dance Gavin Dance

Everything compliments each other in this song. The lyrics, screams, clean vocals along with the instruments. All are combined to make this incredible, this song makes me cry and I don't know why even. That is how I know it is beautiful.

------ About the song People You Know performed by Dance Gavin Dance

Love this song (and band). Everything sounded right. At the end Kurt: "Uneasy hearts weigh the most, oh uneasy hearts they weigh the most...
Maybe i can find a place for you with all the things you do, i have no clue, watching you, lately i, have been hoping to, in thought of what to say, what they don't find out"

------ About the song Lemon Meringue Tie performed by Dance Gavin Dance

This song is a great first-timer song, to get a newbie into this sort of genre of music. A friend showed me this song and now i rave about DGD to everyone i know.

Johnny is coming back to the band...as for the other 2 (Screamer and bassist) is still on their own. Of course they'll never be the same. But that's music, and life. It's always changing, and they're always gonna change. Whether we like the new or not, they won't die.

------ About the song Lemon Meringue Tie performed by Dance Gavin Dance

This very song converted me to post-hardcore. Spectacualr vocals and a brilliant hook, what more could you ask for? The lyrics, though not perhaps the most intelligent of metaphorical, reach out to you and pull you in, and the "I belived you're not OK" will be stuck in your head just as much as the uber-catchy chorus "I don't know why I fight for you this way".

------ About the song Alex English performed by Dance Gavin Dance

I love this song. I've been listening to it non-stop for more than four or five months. This is definitely one of Dance Gavin Dance's best!

What makes it great is that you can always find something new in it. I love the intricate melodies and riffs. Each part, separate, makes me as happy as the next! I think the quiet, reflective "Just keep your arms around me..." part is a great contrast to DGD's famous erratic guitar.

The lyrics go hand-in-hand with this great melody. Haha, if only I could fire at them with my grammar arsenal!

------ About the song The Robot With Human Hair Part 3 performed by Dance Gavin Dance

The series for this song was based on the black and white silent film Metropolis, just to be clear. Now yes it I too was ashamed that two original members were lost and had to be replaced especially the screamer because that was part of DGD's charm. I agree with Hunter on Downtown Battle Mountain, but i don't agree on the opinion of the Deathstar Album (or Self-Titled if you will) being bad. It had some great muic into it and to a certain sense kept DGD's Psychadelic/Funk origins in tact (excluding Skyhook...didn't like it much). Now the Happiness album is just an atrocity to me. I will support DGD further on for what they have done but other than that im not sure. Did not like the screams in the most recent album and DGD's original style was not kept.

Strawberry Swisher Pt.1 | Reviewer: Rachel Littleton
------ About the song Strawberry Swisher Pt. 1 performed by Dance Gavin Dance

To be honest the song is catchy but DGD hasnt been the same ever since they got a new vocalist. Yes Kurt Travis can sing but nothing can compair to the amazing vocals of Downtown Battle Mt. The point is i like their new stuff but i LOVE their old stuff.

Old members of DGD are gone doesn't mean the newer sound isn't just as good and even, for that matter, that different.
It's not.
There are some key differences and there probably will be in the future but I can't wait for what DGD has in store.
The new album is just as good as their older stuff.
