------ About the album Dan McCafferty performed by Dan McCafferty

After the big, hard and huge-selling "HAIR OF THE DOG", it seemed that Mr. McCafferty couldn't be out of order, so he and Manny Charlton in the capacity of producer made an enigmatic album which was the McCafferty's dream made truth.

We can get pleasure from the versions' whole that fills this record and from the diverse music styles that convert it in the most varied album performed by the singer, ever; more than "CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ROCK 'N' ROLL".
Here we got a favorite songs listing of McCafferty, where we discover "pop" in "Out of Time", "country" in Cinthy Churchill's "You Can't Lie to a Liar", classic "rock" in "The Honky-Tonk Downstairs", the Buck Ram’s traditional melody "The Great Pretender", even "reggae" in Doris Payne's "Watcha Gonna do About It?".

...And...a lot of ballads. It seemed to me that "EXERCISES" got a lot of ballads, 'till I met this album. The most outstanding, "Nightingale"; that Bob Dylan masterpiece: "Boots of Spanish Leather" and the excellent "Cinnamon Girl", which on McCafferty's throat it transform in one of the best ballads I ever listened.

What can I say? You must listen in it, ignoring the Nazareth works, of course, to discover the restless mind of Dan McCafferty, one of the genius of the music back in the '70's.
