Review The Song (11)Print the Lyrics
Straight as an arrow
Defect defect
Not straight, not so straight
Reject reject
Towards anti-social
Solo solo
Standing on the stairs
Cold, cold morning
Ghostly image of fear
Mayday mayday
Gonna leave this region
They'll take me with them
Dimension seven

Straight as an arrow
Defect defect
Not straight, not so straight
Reject reject
Towards anti-social
So dumb so dumb
Standing on the stairs
Cold, cold morning
Ghostly image of fear
Mayday mayday
Gonna leave this region
They'll take me with them
Dimension seven

Straight as an arrow
Defect defect
Not straight, not so straight
Reject reject
Towards anti-social
So dumb so dumb
Dimension seven
Dimension seven

Review about D7

Eat shit | Reviewer: This song is good though. | 7/25/09

Sorry, this isn't much of a review, despite how brilliant this song is. I'm just pissed about "fun guy" putting people down for fun. Miserable fucks like you shouldn't even exist. Not to mention most of your "reasons that everyone in the world sucks" aren't even valid? You can't "make" a song? Last I checked, making something is to create it. Has this changed lately. You also said it makes us sound like "teeny-bopper little girls" when we call him Kurt. I think in this context it sounds a bit redundant and unnecessary to call him Kurt Cobain every time that we refer to him. Calling him "Mr. Cobain" like you did is another option, but this is pretty damn absurd too. If I asked you to name The Beatles would you call them "Mr. McCartney, Mr. Harrison, Mr. Lennon, and Mr. Starkey?" I didn't think so. Quit being a fucking tool and keep your misery to yourself.

well i think its a very criptical song, with an amount of different possible interpretations, heres mine, i think hes joking about a bunch of martians that kidnap him or some, thats the dimension 7, and it happens that he likes it thats why he became 'antisocial'. 'straight', 'arrow' and all that terminology refers to the social spot i'd say

by the way, fun guy, we do not have to live with your frustration for not having made the scene in music, thats your fucking business and you stink with your mr.know-all attitude, if the girl likes nirvana, just leave her alone!

ok i appreciate your concern. all apologies for my writing, english is my second language

D7 - Dimension 7 | Reviewer: darthrevan13 | 5/21/08

Well, I think firstly he is talking about perfection, "straight as an arrow", because that's what he would want to be, but he realizes he is not perfect at all, because the arrow because "not so straight":

"Defect defect
Not straight, not so straight"

After that he explains he's fear about having these defects.

"Reject reject
Towards anti-social
Solo solo"

So because of this he slowly becomes slowly introverted, a very EMO like attitude.

"Standing on the stairs
Cold, cold morning"

Nobody sits on the stairs in the morning especially when it's cold. This is a sign of complete introversion.

"Ghostly image of fear
Mayday mayday
Gonna leave this region
They'll take me with them"

He's becoming afraid of this, so he is screaming for help, but their is no answer, so the "ghosts", by that meaning the fears will take him into the next dimension, by that meaning he will pass away.

My God! | Reviewer: Fun Guy | 5/18/08

i wish i wasn't late commenting on this... that way, some of you idiots could read it. anyway, concerning this comment:

"even if this isn't a song made by my best idol Kurt Cobain, it's still kurt that we can hear sing it on "with the lights out" and thats what i love, his voice! thats is the most important i think :D
BTW...I LOVE YOU Kurt, and i hope all of us do
R.I.P will see you in heaven(:"

what the fuck is a "best idol?" huh? i really hope english is your second language. his voice is the most important aspect of his art? what the fuck? would you say that if he was the frontman of the Bee Gees?
and you LOVE a man you've never met? you LOVE a man that was probably dead before you were even born? do you have any idea how stupid you sound? i imagine your father is rather ashamed of you. and you hope all of us love him? what is that supposed to mean? why would that matter? but i suppose you've got a good head on your shoulders. i'm sure Mr. Cobain is going to be thrilled to bump into you in "heaven." and how the fuck is a song "made?" i was pretty sure that songs were "written."

and for whoever posted this comment:

"Without the Wipers Nirvana would be nothing. And without this song the punk band DEFECT DEFECT wouldn't exist. They are awesome."

your post should read: "I'm so fucking punk rock! i can name-drop bands most people haven't heard of! i'm so fucking cool! you haven't heard of these bands and i have! popular bands are so uncool! (mainly because i couldn't achieve the popularity i so deperately wanted in high school.) it's true. success is for losers. the best bands in the world don't sell records. period." (by the way... just so you know, defect defect isn't even signed. and they suck.)why would a band that sounds NOTHING like Nirvana name themselves after a NIRVANA song that wasn't written by NIRVANA? and since the wipers wrote the song and are SO MUCH BETTER than Nirvana, how are they naming themselves after Nirvana? probably because they haven't heard of the wipers. only you have.

i bet you had problems with the following sort of questions on tests in high school:
if the wipers wrote D-7 but nirvana covered the song, and some shitty bunk band named themselves after lyrics in the song, which band did the shitty "punk" band name themselves after?
a.) the wipers
b.) nirvana
c.) my mother's rotten vagina

and for everyone that refers to kurt cobain by his first name: you all sound like teeny-bopper little girls - like you have a fucking "crush" on him or something. you're not fooling anyone. you're not on a first name basis with "kurt." at least not Kurt Cobain.

i'd kill myself too if i played shows for a bunch of people like y'all. just a sea of people missing the point.

Without the Wipers Nirvana would be nothing. And without this song the punk band DEFECT DEFECT wouldn't exist. They are awesome.

Agree with second review | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/7/07

Yep. Kurt didn't write this. Sorry fellows. It really is by the Wipers. Excellent song though

great song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/17/07

Great song undoubtly but why would you expect anything less from Nirvana

Ehh.... | Reviewer: John | 4/29/07

This isn't a Nirvana song, it's a song by the Wipers from their 1979 debut album. Kurt Cobain didn't right this song, he didn't even alter it when he covered it. >_>

Anyways, great song nonetheless.
