Culture Club Lyrics

When Boy George arrived on the music scene in 1982, it was
in a flurry of pre-publicity. Not the work of souped up ad
men and recording company executives, but a carefully
engineered programme of self-elevation which George himself
had put into force many years before!

People sat bolt upright before their television screens as
he and his group 'Culture Club' put their talents to the
public attention. With dreadlocks and eccentric dress, even
by modern fashion standards where anything goes and who
cares, he stood out as a kind of More...

------ About the song Church of the Poison Mind performed by Culture Club

"Sexuality is likened to a church, you are either gay or straight, and the choice to be both would be considered to be venomous."

I have to say I am gay and I totally disagree with this. Denying someone's right to be bi-sexual is just as ignorant as saying it's not ok to be gay.

Lady Penelope:
OMG! I Remember that song! good times! good times!
It was...um...right. 1984. The day of the movies "Nightmare On ElmStreet", "Revenge Of The Nerds," Oh, and that Lamar Latrel, he was, Gorgeous!!! "16 Candles," With my bloke, Long Duck Dong. I loved his quotes, "What's happenin', hot stuff?" and, "Oh sexy girlfriend! BANZI!"

------ About the song Church of the Poison Mind performed by Culture Club

George was seeing one of his band members on a romantic level. This member was bi-sexual, which confuses george, and other gays. In our societal norms bi-sexuals confound and frustrate others because they can't seem to make up their minds. The song simply states if you make a choice to be gay or straight make that choice and leave blurring the line alone. Sexuality is likened to a church, you are either gay or straight, and the choice to be both would be considered to be venomous.

------ About the song Mistake No. 3 performed by Culture Club

Wow. My generation was and still is on the forefront of the culture pulse. I was 28 when this classic was released. The group recieved more than money can give them from their fans.

Nice to see the future carry it further.

An underrated but fantastic song... | Reviewer: Mike G.
------ About the song Mistake No. 3 performed by Culture Club

The poetry of the music is pretty good IMHO and I like the song a lot. Unfortunately it seems tour fatigue and internal squabbles affected the commercial release of the album which eventually contributed to the lukewarm reception of the song. Too bad it should be more than a modest hit.

PRETTY GOOD | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Mistake No. 3 performed by Culture Club

Mistake No 3 is a pretty good song. I think the song failed on the charts because many people saw Culture Club and especially Boy George as a fad that was running out of time when the single was realesed in early 85. I still enjoy it every time I listen to it. Boy George knew how to write good songs.
