Chorus:
Cuba, cuba here I come
There's a place in the caribbean sun
Land of future
Land of dreams
Checking for the coast
Cuban cigars
And the last glass in the bar
I see the rise and the fall
Of this down, downtown miami
Give me someone to dance with and love
When the sun goes down
While Fidel is growing his hair
(Chorus x 2)
Cuba, cuba libre
(It's Ace of base)
Cuba, cuba libre
Uh huh
(Shock)
Share in the sun
Givin’ us some taps
That's still the one
Where coca cola and coke
Have arrived for consumers
It's so happy and poor
Little country down in the south
We like it
The people, the nature
(Chorus x 2)
Cuba, cuba libre
In the sun, in the south
(It's Ace of base)
Cuba, cuba libre
Uhmm ah ahh
Cuba, cuba libre
The world is coming over to ya,to ya
(x4)
(Chorus x 2)
It's so happy and poor
Little country down in the south
We like it
The people, the nature
(Chorus x 2)
Cuba, cuba libre
There's a place in the caribbean sun
Cuba, cuba libre
The world is coming over to ya
Cuba, cuba libre
(It's Ace of base)
Cuba, cuba libre
Checking for the coast
As previously mentioned by another fan, this song neglectfully never made it to the 2002 released Ace of base album. The song would have unquestionably successed high into the charts, being very similar to the classic "All that she wants". Unfortunately, their previous record company, Edel-Mega, declined it's existence on the album. Many versions of this song were created, including a mellowly version by an artist called Hannah K.
This brillant track is about the lack of freedom and living conditions in the beautiful island of Cuba. Despite the fact that Cuba is paradise to many tourists, the majority of Cuban citizens feel otherwise.
It has been rumoured that a full quality version of this track will appear one day.
Overall, an amazing song that's incredibly catchy and original. Ace of base at their very best.
Hi, I love this song. Cuba Cuba is a demo-song submitted to Edel-Mega on 2001/2002, but this one, on the last moment was rejected.
"Cuba Cuba" has a very familiar style like the super hits "All that she wants" and "The Sign" on 1994. Jonas Berggren wrote this song and his sisters (Linn and Jenny) sung the lyrics. Maybe, this one was rejected for politcal reasons (contain lyrics about Fidel Castro and the Cuban revolution on the 50's).
It's a catchy song, but a little repetitive, this one has 8.5/10.
