Critical Acclaim Lyrics

Review The Song (20)Print the Lyrics
Shhh, be quiet; you might piss somebody off
Like me motherfucker you've been at it for too long
While you feed off others' insecurities
You stand in front of me and bite the hand that feeds

Self-righteousness is wearing thin
(Lies inside your head, your best friend)
Heart bleeds but not for fellow men
(Broken glass, your fake reflection)

I've had enough
It's time for something real
I don't respect the words you're speaking
Gone too far
A clone

So how does it feel to know that someone's kid
in the heart of America has blood on their hands
fighting to defend your rights
so you can maintain a lifestyle
that insults his very existence?
Well, where I'm from we have a special
salute that we aim high in the air
towards all those pompous assholes
who spend their days pointing fingers
(Fuck You)

Shhh… be quiet you might piss somebody off
Like the heartbeat of this country when antagonized too long
I'll be damned if you count me in as part of your generous hypocrisy
collecting enemies

Tabloid gossip queen worthless man
(There's no need for us to bury you)
Selfish agenda once again
(Right this way you've dug your own grave)

I've had enough
It's time for something real
I don't respect the words you're speaking
Gone too far
A clone

All the way from the east to the west we
got this high society
looking down on their very foundation
constantly reminding us that our actions
are the cause of all their problems.
Pointing their fingers in every
direction and blaming their
own nation for who wins the elections
They've never contributed a fucking thing to the
country they love to criticize

Excuse the obscene, ignore the untrue
Depictions we see try and get through
Admitting mistakes can hurt
I'm not the last but I sure ain't the first

Shhh… be quiet you might piss somebody off

Self-righteousness is wearing thin
(Lies inside your head your best friend)
Heart bleeds but not for fellow men
(Broken glass your fake reflection)

I've had enough
It's time for something real
I don't respect the words you're speaking
Gone too far
A clone

Best Album Yet | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/28/09

This album has hooked me on A7X all those who think this album sucks are crazy. Ya there other albums are good but you here more music off this album played on the radio more than any other album. But someone needs to check the lyrics over they look like crap.

hmmm | Reviewer: brandon | 3/31/09

i dont get why people say that this album sucks ?? it awesome and even if you think that their old stuff is better its what the band wanted to do its their stuff they can do whtever they want and even if it is mainstreams it still wipes its ass wiht all the other mainstream shit. a7x still rock hard and the lyrics they come up iwth are the greates i love them. A7X for life

TOO TELL U THE TRUTH | Reviewer: Brock | 1/18/09

Honestly this is a god song but this album is GARBAGE!!! yeah a7x is good but this album sucked they only had like 4 good songs,(critical acclaim, almost easy, scream, a little peice of heaven)those r there only good songs so yeah my overall opinion about this album....they let their selves go, but any of there other albums are good especilly city of evil, anyone will agree with me there, but what do u guys think of my comment???

Pretty good. | Reviewer: an average consumer. | 1/19/09

This song is pretty good, and I do agree with certain parts of what the guy below me said. I don't much care that this song is political, but I do much perfer the religious references of their older songs. That, to me, is what was missing with the S/T album. I think that, without the Rev, the song wouldn't be as good as it is.

And all those who think he's good in this song, check out afterlife, his vocals in the bridge make the song for me.

PS, someone really needs to sort out these lyrics, it's messy and loks ugly.

Good, but could be better | Reviewer: >Spades< | 12/18/08

Pretty good song I think…Rev sounded absolutely awesome both on the drums and on the mic
But this is no where near their best tho. I find this album as a whole to be so much more superficial than City of Evil, which is their best album to date (in my opinion), especially compared to songs like Beast and the Harlot, with all its symbols and religious references. And I also found the third soft, lyrical verse out of place from the rest of the song
I just think A7x is much more suited to singing about stuff like Cain and Abel than politicians who don’t do shit. Besides, didn’t they say MIA was the last song related to politics they were gonna do?

i luv it..... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/14/08

this is one of thier best songs...i love them to death...i can really relate the the part "so how does it feel to know that someone's kid in the heart of america has blood in their hands fighting to defend your righs that insults his family exstance". my bro is in the army nd so many ppl tht dont have family in the army/marines/air force/ navy doesnt really understand how hard it is to be scared everyday tht they might get hurt or something even worse..so many ppl say so many bad things about these heroes...at least a7x said it

critical acclaim | Reviewer: mike | 9/5/08

dudes this song is awsome im listening to it right now and i got in trouble for bringing there album to school and playing this song but i did it for the guys of the band they need to be heard so rock on and love this song or die

ABOUT TIME | Reviewer: SGM Height | 5/30/08

Ok, Its about time for the unspoken to be heard. I am tired of the fucking liberal linkin park and rise against wining about shit on their songs! I love this song and everything it stands for. A7x sure makes those liberal bands look like huge vaginas

my favourite song!! hahx for real | Reviewer: xbLu3dEvILx | 11/18/07

this song rocks. especially when the rev says shh, quiet, might piss sombebody off. i always sing this part whenever my frens are making fools of themselves wherever we go.. hahx
