Cries Of The Past Lyrics
Artist(Band):Underoath
Review The Song (13)Print the Lyrics
it happened all so fast heavy with sleep my eyes closed
the next thing i remember was crawling out from the car and
seeing you lying there
holding your head kissing you for the last time
the taste of blood on my lips
your clothes torn apart perfumed with gas
it seems like it was yesterday when the rain poured down
i can still hear your screams as if it was happening all over again
saturday, december 4th that night would become a grave
that would crush my heart
joy and laughter exchanged for grief and silence
searching for so long to find you and the moment
you were ripped from me
laying here on this empty shelf never to be read again
in these pages lie every memory of you
the wind blew your heart over my eyes and i slept for days
praying not to awake, but these dreams can only last so long
facing the day looking through these tears
i'll always look back and remember that night as you lay there
looking over that casket seeing your face times of past rushing by
touching your cold hand wishing it would touch me back
you look so pretty lying there just like the first day we met
it feels so real like old times but it's nothing, it's nothing
i can taste the stale air on my tongue and death lights up the sky
hope finds itself an end stopping at my thoughts
pictures of you help bring back the tears
walking in the present but living in the past
how much longer will i embrace sorrow?
from the moment you entered my life
my whole outlook on love would change
you brought out a happiness i didn't even know i had
and now you've gone leaving without a goodbye
that glass heart that rested in my chest has fallen and shattered
here on lord is the remains of a broken heart
for i have faith you can give me joy and life again
death has fallen but love covers me
heaven is now home to my angel of love

Review about Cries Of The Past

ya | Reviewer: coy | 1/25/2008
its sad but this is mainly the reason he got kicked out of the band
cuz the only things he wrote about in all of their songs was this accident and they were no longer a christian band but a band about a car accident
thats why dallas got kicked out
theyre still on good terms though cuz underoath tours with dallases band maylene and the sons of disaster

    xD | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/2/2008

If it is true, then it's really sad.. and I feel sorry for him. But if it isn't, it's still a really sad song! I love this song so much, either way. And if it is true, must take alot of guts to sing it at concerts. Alix. x

    Great Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/22/2007

    i like this song alot
prolly 1 of my fav underoath songs
i dont really like them much now
    i still listen to em
but they were alot better when they were deathcore
still a sick band eatherway its just harder to headbang to
    lol

    god.. | Reviewer: underoath fan. | 11/18/2007

of course it doesn't sound like the new underoath idiot
they have a new vocalist and they are more metalcore now.....
before it used to be deathcore.....
    which was way better.
    i love metal core
but it's just gay because i loved the old way they played...
    their new shits gay now...
their lyrics aren't even the same..

    *tears* | Reviewer: Caprica | 11/15/2007

the first time i heard this song i was crying sooo much!!!! everytime i hear it i cry. it reminds me of my friend who almost died in a car crash he still wont go into a car. i love him dearly and would have been deathly crushed if he died

    sick song | Reviewer: Brad | 10/29/2007

It's sort of the same Underoath that did It's Dangerous Bussiness Walking Out You Front Door. It's essentially the same band, but different people except for Aaron Gillespie and Christopher Dudley.

    true | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/3/2007

it is a true story. dallas fell asleep driving home one night, went off the road and killed his fiance in a car accident. says it all i nthe beginning of the song

    Amazing | Reviewer: Jason | 10/2/2007

    Before the reformation of underoath.

This along with Walking Away, has to be my favorite song ever recorded. Im not keen on there last two 2 Albums. I respect the fact that they felt they had to move on and that but the first 2 E.Ps and album are fantastic!.

    yeah | Reviewer: yeah | 9/30/2007

hahahaha is this a joke? this is like the worst song ever by underoath, they can do so mush better. If this is the same underoath that made its dangreous buisness walking out your front door? it sure dont sound like it

This is the best song ever. I can listen to it over and over and still love it. It's awsome! It's beautifull. At the end of the song i almost started to cry, lol... I wonder if it's a true story?
