I know this review is quite late, but better late than never. I have to say that even though your view on the lyrics is a bit insightful, you are wrong. The song may seem negative, but in all it is asking for everyone to stand together a "one" and end the discrimination. You are obviously reading into the words the wrong way, but people have their own opinions all around.

yes, they mean god when they say maker and a lot of people believe that that is the truth. God has gone away from us when man sinned. I think they're talking about satan too. if you look at the world, i could believe that god has abandoned us because he lets half of the idiots in this world stay alive. i know better. i really can see how good this song is.

This song is awesome!
I really like it no matter how you look at it.
It's a pretty deep song and I think it can relate to just about anybody. And the reason why I think that is because its a song about relationship. Guys, what I'm about to interpret in the words of this song is just my view of them everytime I hear them. So It may or it may not bring new light or meaning
to the song, but in any case I don't think you'll stop listening to it anyway.
Firstly:
I spent a day by the river (the river of life, "Jesus Christ")
It was quiet and the wind stood still (Christ brings peace and
rest)
I spent some time with nature (God's creations)
To remind me of all that's real (Proof of God's divine power
and existence)
It's funny how scilence speaks sometimes when your alone (temptations of the world without the presence of Christ)
And remember that you feel (your human, you will feel pain in a world destined to decay)
Again I stand, Lord I stand (again pursuing, admitting to the Lord, (Jesus), taking on faith)
Against the faceless man (the defeated ruler of the world who is the cause of all deceit and temptation, Satan)
Now I saw a face on the water (seeing the face of Jesus. Note: the bible is known to be like a mirror to the believer, it convicts the sinner and reflecting the image of Christ, thus he may be using 'water' as the 'Bible' and also possibly looking into the water reflecting the image of who he should be.)
It looked humble and willing to fight (humbleness: a huge portrail of Jesus' earthly ministry, 'willing to fight': the fight of Christian faith, hope and most importantly love)
I saw the will of a warrior (the determination of Christ, his hope for the survival of his people)
His yoke is easy and his burden is light (a direct passage from the Bible itself referring to faith and salvation)
He looked me right in the eyes
Direct and concise to remind me
To always do what's right
(the penetrating gaze and power of the lord as he is able to gaze into our hearts, 'eyes', and convict us, 'remind us', through the Holy Spirit, to walk in the way of righteousness)
'Cause if the face inside can't see the light (referring to the one who reside within you: Either the evil one, who does not see the light and will always abandon you or the Holy Spirit (Christ), who recognizes the light and will never abandon you)
I know I'll have to walk alone (in this case he refers to the evil one)
And if I walk alone to the other side (as in after death, 'other side')
I know I might not make it home (admitting his awareness that if the Holy Spirit is not present within him he will not enter the gate to the Kingdom of Heaven, 'home')
Next time I see this face (the tempter, the abandoner, the false hope)
I'll say I choose to live for always (chooses eternal life through Christ)
So won't you come inside and never go away (the acceptance of Christ in his life as savior, to make his home in and dwell forever within until the end of age, 'second coming')

this is definitely my favorite ever creed song. i remember when i was homeless on the street losing my sanity. my sister found me, demanded i come home after hugging me for five minutes, and my father and i apologized to each other. i was 22 and had runaway five years earlier. later that night this song camew on and completely explained my state of mind during those five years. i am happy to say that me and my husband have been married for 10 years and we adopted a son named derek and i couldnt be happier. those who wonder, i am a gay man and my fathers reaction to my outing was my irrational reason for running away. oh well, pencils have erasers, do they not?

This is an awesome which I can really relate to, especially after all I have been through in recent years. At times I do feel like giving up because I have been "rusted and weathered" by the hardships in my life. But I love the last verse to this song. "believe what you will, that is your right, but I choose to win, I choose to fight!". That right there solidifies the fire I have in my soul to keep on burning and keep on fighting... Even though I'm rusted and weathered.

This was just a good song i got it for a assignment for school and i had to listen to it, but now i can't stop listening to it. To me this song means thathe has loved and always wants to love and shes has done so much for him and he wants to repay her but if you put that in the christian way it is us singing to the lord and wanting to repay him for all that he has done for us.

    ------ About the song My Sacrifice performed by Creed

Song lyrics have many meanings to different individuals, depending on perspective. To me, "my Sacrifice" is referring to Jesus, who sacrificed himself for me. How appropriate to write this the day before Easter. The freedom is the peace Christians experience in knowing God. That's not to say our lives are easier, but, knowing God is always with us, makes adversity easier to handle. People can stray from God with so many worldly distractions. But, as the song says, we always long for that peace or "freedom" and relish it when we return to God's presence. Thanks, Creed, for your public acknowledgement of our Creator!

Unfortunately, I do see this country headed eventually towards a second civil war. "The world is headed for mutiny"
