It's not easy to find a success story as genuine as Creed’s
in popular culture these days, with all the carefully
scripted rises to glory and the falls that inevitably
follow careers built on hype. If any late-'90s band can
claim to have ascended strictly on its own merits, it's
Creed, a Florida-bred foursome that went from zero to sixty
(or, more accurately, zero to nearly 4x Platinum) by virtue
of a combination of finger-on-the-pulse songs and powerful
live performances, rather than a raft of hype.

"With My Own Prison, I knew we had the talent to get a
record deal and I knew we had songs good enough to get
played on the radio, but I never had any expectations of
reaching this many people," says Creed's dynamic frontman,
Scott Stapp. "But when I think back, I c More...

    Review about Creed

------ About the song One performed by Creed

If one really THINKS about the lyrics, I think it becomes apparent that all of the first three reviewers were correct. The song is actually very negative: it expresses not only futility of racism, but also cynicism and frustration at how government and society have chosen to deal with it.

"Affirmative Action", "may be justified"! But at the same time, it is taking from one, and giving to another. Which is also wrong on some level.

"The payment silenced the masses sanctified by oppression": minorities were elevated in status to a certain degree by affirmative action, but it also mollified them to a degree that was perhaps not warranted.

"Unity took a back seat sliding further into regression": Affirmative action never really satisfied anybody. It raised a lot of resentment with those who had to pay for it but can honestly say, "I am not discriminating, and I was not there in the past to oppress your ancestors." It is a failed policy and its failure has not been adequately addressed.

"Society blind by color why hold down one to raise another": This could be argued both ways. slavery and discrimination held down one to the benefit of the other. Today, affirmative action has in fact "held down" non-minorities in favor of minorities. Is reverse discrimination really justified? It is still discrimination.

"The world is headed for mutiny, when all we want is unity": I think this expresses the main theme of this song. One does not fight discrimination with discrimination, no matter which way it points. The only answer is to get rid of it. Let it go.

------ About the song Rain performed by Creed

This is a beautiful song. Scott Tapp is a beautiful person with an amazing soul. I play this song at my local youth center and all the kids there love it. I sometimes play a rendition of it on my Grandfathers acoustic guitar.

There is this child that attends youth group and his name is Billy, after he first heard this song, he told me... 'I want to be just like Scott Tapp'

If Barrack Obama can win a nobel prize, why not Scott Tapp?

    I love life.
    I love God.
    I love Children.
    I love Creed.

------ About the song One performed by Creed

    actually guys
this is a song about racism and i think the noun "One" would represent the meaning of uniting..without hate or discrimination of color or backround..but to love each and one another as one person.reminds me of 9/11 too

------ About the song Lullaby performed by Creed

This is one of the most beautiful songs ever . here are songs out there like I Don't Wana Miss A Thing or November Rain, and they are indisputably perfect, but lullaby just has that amazing feeling of content in the lyrics . Anyhoo , this song kicks some major ass. :D

this song is startilingly gorgeous | Reviewer: Vanity
------ About the song Never Die performed by Creed

even though the lyrics are kind of pecuiliar the slow meoldy playing in the background caresses the heart. Scott Stapp's voice is stunningly perfect in every way, during this song -and all of the others- and has an exquisite essence portrayed throughtout the track.

It's all about you | Reviewer: Sammy
------ About the song Faceless Man performed by Creed

This song has nothing to do with God. It is about the fight you have with yourself. Just choose and don not hold back because of fear and worry - CHOOSE TO LIVE!!!!.

It is one of the best songs ever.

Creed are back together (april 2009) and I'm gonna fly all the way to the US from Europe just to see them before they decide to break up again (altough Alter Bridge is a good band as well!)

------ About the song What's This Life For performed by Creed

This song is amazing, and I carry an emotional connection to it. As for the "cursing", I do not think that it was inappropriate but it was not necessary. The word is used in its correct form, which makes it alright. But good song and good lyrics.

------ About the song My Sacrifice performed by Creed

i love creed's music, but everything i listen to that's by them reminds me off my boyfriend, who is breaking my heart by telling me he thinks i would be better without him. he's second guessing and it's breaking my heart in two
    still, great song
    love it

    The "curse" | Reviewer: brandon
------ About the song What's This Life For performed by Creed

This song is rad, as for the "Cursing" if one were to put aside their pre conceived notions about swearing for a second, they would realize that when Scott Stapp used the phrase "God Damn" he was using it in the context of what the word "damn" is actually supposed to be used for. Scott was referring to the agenda that satan and his worms use against what God has planned for our lives. But we all know that Satan and anything to do with him is eternally damned by God, therefor "we dont have to settle no "God Damned" score". There you have it, its an action phrase, that actually happened. There is no better phrase for satans situation than God Damned. All be it if one were to use that term in different context it most certainly would be using the Lords Name in vein.

------ About the song One performed by Creed

personally...I feel it is reflective of humanity as a whole...presenting our nature to take from those around us for our own gain rather than reach our hands out in aid and comfort...as for what one is i'll leave that to your interpretation

    my experience | Reviewer: daniel
------ About the song Faceless Man performed by Creed

This great song remind me about my first meeting with God. It feels great. Is amazing how a few minutes in his presence makes you so happy. Feeling how misery, troubles and sorrows disappear like at the same time He speaks to you.

One, oh One | Reviewer: Mike
------ About the song One performed by Creed

If none of you noticed, "One" is capitalized every time. Meaning...it's a proper noun. Most likely a name. Creed was known for its Christian lyrics, regardless of whether or not Stapp liked being called a Christian rock band. It's talking about how God's the only way we can get everything straightened out...

Second interpretation I'm seeing is how affirmative action doesn't work, but rather is government endorsed racism towards the majority.

About the song... | Reviewer: Tim
------ About the song Higher performed by Creed

Vocalist Scott Stapp actually wrote the song about the power of lucid dreaming.
The song was written after Stapp used the technique to stop a recurring nightmare he had been experiencing in which he was pursued and killed by a gunman. In the dream, he would turn left at the end of a highway and hide under a bridge, only to be found by his assailant and shot. When he had studied lucid dreaming and tried the technique, he was able to turn right and escape the gunman. Stapp stated that after he wrote the lyrics, he never had the dream again.
So its not actually about "heaven"
And hey Jared...what does "and that refers to heavan so this song is good" mean dude?
is a song only good when its about heaven or god?
but hey i agree with the rest of you guys...the song kicks ass...listen to it all the time...never gets tiring

LOVE THIS SONG! | Reviewer: in love~
------ About the song Higher performed by Creed

Carrie, I agree with you. I truly escape to another place when listening to this great song. I love it so much. I know this sounds cliché but I really do realte to it, the (At sunrise I fight to stay asleep - 'Cause I don't want to leave the comfort of this place) part is so true. I mean I really dont want to wake up because life without a person you really love and cherish is very hard.

    Faceless man | Reviewer: Ty
------ About the song Faceless Man performed by Creed

i feel this song is more about understanding who u really are and not just excepting god into ur life but being able to forgive urself of all the wrongs u have commited in the past standing against a faceless man would b like standing in front of someone who has no understanding of who he/she really is. it takes a real man/woman to stand up and accept all the wrongs they commited and ask for forgiveness. he talks about spending a day by the water to just relax and think. he also says "It's funny how silence speaks sometimes when you're alone" i think he speaks of a persons concienss speaking out but thats just me and my opinion

    Memories | Reviewer: wkballard
------ About the song My Sacrifice performed by Creed

This song embodies my feelings in a way so perfect as to qualify as a little miracle. There are three friends my heart sings this to; one of them did not live long enough to hear it; but the lesson this taught me brought me the courage to reconnect despite fear of rejection with those who remain.
God Bless you, oh song writer, and I thank you from the heart.
