Lyrics - Cream Lyrics

In the eyes of their audience, the three musicians in Cream
represented the best players of their respective
instruments - the "cream" of British rock musicianship, as
it were. The blues-rock trio came together in 1966.
Already, Clapton had attained recognition as Britain's
preeminent guitarist as a result of his tenure with the
Yardbirds and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. Bassist Jack
Bruce and drummer Ginger Baker boasted an impressive
pedigree as well, having been the rhythm section for the
Graham Bond Organization, a blues-jazz band fronted by
organist-singer Bond.
Driven by thoughts of moving from straight blues into a new
kind of pop music - one that took note of directions
emerging from London's underground scene - Baker approached
Clapton about forming a More...

Review about Cream
Britain's Original Power Trio -- Cream | Reviewer: Walt
------ About artist/band Cream
Eric Clapton wasn't "god" but God gave this wonderful man the uncanny ability to make a piece of wood and metal do what no other mortal could ever do. I believe that I was the first person in my area of Ohio to have heard the Cream. My favorite Cream tune? Well, I've narrowed it down to four: First, Dance the Night Away (the epitome of psychedlia -sorry Jimi!), Second, Deserted Cities of the Heart (shoulda went on the Easy Rider soundtrack), Third, I'm So Glad (love Eric's solo --brilliantly bluesy/psychedelic), Fourth, Badge. The live version of Crossroads (from San Fran) was great too, but I've heard it too much over the past 35-some-odd years. Jack Bruce's bass is just perfect --soulful and "wooly". Ginger Baker's drums are a like a distinct heartbeat from the past -- a combination of Gene Krupa and Ginger's unique technique. All the best to the four fantastic blokes who changed my life forever! Amen! --WBF
