One of David Bowie's best unrecognized hit songs. Not as popular or as well known as "Let's Dance" or "Young Americans," Cracked Actor is Bowie's shining example of commentary, double entendre, and simple poetic brilliance. Plus, Mick Ronson's growling, wailing, and haunting guitar work on this song in particular is second to none.

This song is catchy, addictive, has a certain depth, and the lyrics are epic. It is timeless, and the live versions, esp the Ziggy and Aladdin era one is the best. the ones after had the skull kissing, which was seriously awsome, but the Spiders and the harmonica gave it something special.

also, His face when he sings it is enough to make any one even vaguely attracted to males melt into a puddle of goo on the floor, but might just be me.

David is a genius, and the greatest, and this is one of my favourite songs by him

The song is really great! The lyrics are just brilliant. ;D "You sold me illusions, a bag full of cheques. Hey baby, bad connection cuzz' I just want your sex!" -Oh yeah. Bowie is great, rocks forever! Anyway... I love the song, but the live version of this song is the best, (my opinion)... You just have to listen it! Yeah... Go David, you rock!!

I'm a big Bowie fan, if a bit young.

Anyway, you simply have to love this song, it's instense and just feels great.

Besides I think we all needed a song with the lyrics "Suck, baby, suck, give me your head". It wouldn't be so fantastic without them.

I Thought this song was great in the depth of the lyrics, and the beat is very catchy, you would find your self in the middle of a conference singing aay to this cracked and crooked song, thought it was a great hit, David Bowie is still the number one artist and really has expectations for each of his art works. its best to love what you do, and to love the music you play and that realy shows through this particular performance of music.
