Country Roads Lyrics - John Denver

Review The Song (7)

Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze

Chorus:
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, Mountain Mama
Take me home, country roads

All my mem’ries, gather ’round her
Miner’s lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye

Chorus

I hear her voice, in the mornin’ hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
And drivin' down the road I get a feeling
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday

Chorus x 2

Wherever Country music will be played, this song will always be a hit. The best thing about country music is that the older it gets the best it becomes. It is just vintage; it matures with time. Mr Denver, this is an all time great. The song is just natural, and country.

I remember my father when I was younger playing this song, my mother singing along with him. This kind of country music will never die.My father has always played the guitar and we always enjoyed his songs, expecially by John Denver. He has been a true inspiration to my father and I hope my dad one day can show his talent to the world so everyone can enjoy it the way my family has=)

what a lyric!
it reminds anyone who has lived in a country life. even though i have never been to the beauties of the american village, i can feel john denver's mother calling him. i feel my mother calling me when i remember our old farm house owned by my uncle near jasdan. though that happened only a few times.
