Constant Craving Lyrics - k.d. lang

Review The Song (3)

(kd lang/Ben Mink)
Even Through the darkest phase
Be it thick or thin
Always someone marches brave
Here beneath my skin

Constant craving
Has always been

Maybe a great magnet pulls
All souls towards truth
Or maybe it is life itself
That feeds wisdom
To its youth

Constant craving
Has always been

Craving
Ah ha

Struggling With Inner Conflict | Reviewer: Wolfy | 9/18/2008

This song can also be interpreted to be about ones inner conflict. Here she talks about storms and how she has to be brave even when she doesn't look like it outwardly. She also seems to infer the pain of learning by experience, hard, cold, sad ones perhaps. The song stays on the brain for a long time.

Haunting | Reviewer: M | 2/7/2008

This song is indeed beautiful. What she is saying is that inside people who have experienced pain or adversity, there is strength and a desire to rise above it all. I can relate to the "constant craving" of wanting acceptance, a better life, etc. It is a bit sad because she hints that some people will never have it no matter how hard they strive.

The song is beautiful lyrically but it wouldn't be half as wonderful without her magical voice delivering the words. She is truly gifted.
