Why have the current (so-called) "country music" artists abandoned the style and sound that made the genre such a vital part of real American Music? Is it because they really can't sing; or is it because they really don't have tallent; or is it because they don't really have SOUL?? Or is it all three?

It is certain that Connie Smith had and has VOICE, TALLENT, and SOUL. She is simply the best. No peers. But although she has set a standard that (in my opinion) cannot be equalled, some one ought to TRY. What a treasure we have in Connie. Her music will live long after her. And isn't that the real test of greatness?
