Circle Lyrics - Flyleaf

Review The Song (5)

Circle encircles the earth
Chance and choice break his heart
His innocent arm moves to save me and I am spared
His beautiful arm is bloody and cut off
His heart ripped out to show me he loved
But I would not believe him
He did all that he could
I still would not believe him

I left his arms empty and tied outstretched for me until he died
Left his arms empty and tied outstretched for me until he died

No man
Shows greater love
Than when a man
Lays down his life
For his beloved

I left his arms empty and tied outstretched for me until he died
Left his arms empty and tied outstretched for me until he died

Here I'm alive
And I don't have the right
He gave me the right
Costing him his life
New mercy's in the morning

I believe! what if I believe you now?
Could it ever change this?

Forgive me, relieve me,
Please come back to life.

I believe! what if I believe you now?
Could it ever change this?

Forgive me, relieve me,
Please come back to life.

Come back to my life.

I believe, what if i believe you now?
Forgive me, relieve me,
Please come back to life.

The song is about both God's love for us and a man's love for a woman who didn't believe he cared for her. It's a parable, similar to ones in the Bible. For those who think it's not about God, you're missing the fact that Flyleaf makes it quite clear that all of their songs relate to God in some way or another. For those thinking it doesn't refer to two lovers, please purchase the CD and read the "letters" that are there in place of lyrics. For this song, it tells the story of a woman who doubted her husband loved her until he died for her. In fact, if either side of the argument reads the CD sleeve, you can see the songs clearly reflect both the Christian struggle and the human struggle.

This song .... Clearly refers to the love Jesus showed everybody as an individual when he died on the Cross. This is a song to God- as almost all of Flyleaf's songs are. They are a "Christian" band. The lyrics are clear and amazing. And- "By putting out his arm and pulling her out of her way" ?
"I left his arms empty and tied, outstretched for me until he died."

The line above contridicts that. Everything you said, the lyrics disagree =/ Although, you can believe what you want. :) I agree with the reviewer: Learning. I love this song :) It's beautiful.

Maybe... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/15/10

I think it could be about either thing. God or her love saving her. The lines "No man shows greater love than when a man lays down his life for his beloved" makes me think that it is someone who loved her, and died for her, getting her out of harm's way. But, it probably talking about God because so many of their other songs do. Songs don't mean the same thing to everyone, that's what makes them beautiful. I love this song either way. ^-^

To the person down below, if you're referring to "god".. don't. What I believe this song is about is that, he spared his life for her. By putting out his arm and pulling her out of her way, HENCE "His innocent arm moves to save me and I am spared, his beautiful arm is bloody and cut off" and I also think she didn't believe him that he loved her, so he died for her. And after it all, she believe him. "I believe, what if i believe you now? Forgive me, relieve me, Please come back to life."

This lyric makes my heart hurt. | Reviewer: Learning | 1/4/10

"I left his arms empty and tied, outstretched for me until he died."

He died for every single one of us so that we may have a way to be rescued from the world... How dare we go back on Him. He offers us a free gift and we turn around and crucify Him with our hypocrisy and our lies and our darkness. He was reaching for all of us, to pull us through the gap and out of hell into a land of promise - and He died reaching.
